There have been many blasts in the past few weeks in Quetta followed by attacks by the militants against the paramilitary forces who see the development work being undertaken in Balochistan as antithetical to their interests. Though an organisation by the name of Balochistan Liberation Army claimed the responsibility for the blasts that rocked the city last week as well the attacks on the forces today, it is still not known who the real culprit is behind these attacks.
Such acts must be condemned at all levels and at the same time the government must try to address their grievances ‘if’ they are genuine and provide a room for accomodation, for this stubborn attitude on part of both the government as well as the nationalists would further aggravate the situation and alianate the people.
Unidentified people attacked two vehicles of paramilitary forces in Turbat, killing at least four personnel and injuring five, Frontier Corps officials said on Saturday…
The Baloch are protesting the new construction of cantonments on their land. It seems we have enough money to build cantonments for the army, but not enough to make schools, hospitals and roads for the people of Balochistan.

Who is going to really benefit from these? Local Baloch or the expected migrants from elsewhere? It just shows that the Pakistani government’s first priority is to the people of upper Punjab and Karachi, and everyone else is a second class citizen waiting for scraps from the table. This is not equality, nor is this freedom of any kind.
^ Nopes it's not all that..it's your own thinking...
Southern Balochistan is neglected for long...Balochistan has 27 Districts ...Only 11 of them in the North has some progress...Including...Quetta,Sibi,Zhob,Ziarat,Pishin,Loralai & Kalat...
In East ...Khuzdar & Lasbela...are a bit stable...
Southern & southwestern Balochistan including Gwadar,Turbat(Kech),Panjgur & Awaran are much backward even in terms of Balochistan's Standards & they needed both Communicational & Educational infrastructure...this would serve atleast that...Besides previously it used to take 24 hrs to travel from Gwadar to Karachi...now it is 7 hrs...Local people can reach karachi much easily now in case of emergencies...100 People from Gwadar are currently sent to EU countries to get necessary know how to work at the Gwadar sea port...So all this are happening in the right direction...One Just need patience & courage...
100 people is a small drop in the bucket and please do not expect anyone to fall to their knees in support of the current dictator because of these table scraps. Balochistan has many natural resources, that have been exploited by Islamabad for a long time, yet the return to Balochistan in terms of services and infrastructure has been almost nothing. Why must the people of Gawadar have to go to Karachi every time even for basic health services? Is this fair in your eyes?
And why is Balochistan neglected for so long, as you yourself have pointed out? It is because Pakistan is not a true federation where Baloch have equal rights to Punjabis or Mohajirs. This unequal footing creates the issues of mistrust and negligence towards the concerns of people who are not part of the power structure of Pakistan. Is it not better to change this system, rather then begging and borrowing by Sindhis and Baloch over every little basic right? What is our worth to the Pakistani state if we cannot get basic things done for our own people without approval from outsiders? This is not a destiny I want for me, my children, or my people.
^Well why one has to go to Karachi in Emergency or just for fun,any case...Answer is simple...Karachi is the biggest city of Pakistan..that has a better infrastructure...But in 1947 ...Karachi had a population of 400,000 & no infrastructure at all...So it wasn't a big city from the begining...It took time to mend its affairs too...Gwadar is entering into that phase right now...why to hamper that???Why 100 people...100 Because...Gwadar City has a total population of 40,000....Literacy rate is 23%....You do your Mathematics...
It would definitely take time to make it 100%...& the right way to go towards it is to take right steps....
You know which district in Pakistan has the highest literacy rate...Nopes it's not Karachi,Lahore,Islamabad or Faisalabad...It is Haripur Hazara...with a literacy rate of 85-90%....How did that happen...It happened fby people working for themselves...& some of the efforts from the govt........& it is now such that, the biggest Technology institute of N.W.F.P(May be Pakistan)is just near Haripur called GIK institute of Technology...
Karachi got development, because the Mohajirs were part of the power structure of Pakistan. Balochs are not and that is why they have to beg and borrow for every little thing and only now Gawadar is being paid attention too due to the influence of the land mafia.
And why is the literacy rate in so many parts of Pakistan so low? It is because our army government does not want to spend money on education, since it prefers weapons of war to weapons of the mind.
About Hazara, it has benefited due to numerous leaders, Ayub Khan, Yahya Khan, and Ghulam Ishaq Khan being from there. The people alone are powerless to make such radical changes as you suggest. The only reason Sindh is relatively better off then Balochistan is because of the influence of the Bhutto family.
