Ok, I already had posted one thread about iron and kid’s complexion but I dragged khala in it(that’s how khala is, not my MIL… My MIL is the sweetest person ever).
I’m 9 weeks pregnant and have few other questions.
1- Can I highlight my hair.
2- What about mehndi. My brother is getting married in less than a month and I really really want to put mehndion my hands and feet as I love mehndi.
3- Constipation---- Huge problem. Am I the only one. I took Colace last night but… It says that it will take 12-72 hours but ladies its been 4th.day and not even the feeling of going to the barthroom:teary1:. i called Dr’s office and asked the nurse and she said to try Colace or Senna. So I got Colace from Wal-Mart Pharmacy.
Nothing wrong with highlights and mehndi. I dyed my hair when I was 8 months pregnant. As for constipation, try eating high fiber food, it will help big time with constipation.
Congrats !! My beautician told me to avoid getting hair dyed in first trimester. Mehndi is good. As far as constipation is concerned, i have been its victim for first 3 months. You can try these;
Eat gauva , it is very good
Eat husk or ispaghol with warm water daily before going to bed or early in the morning
Eat atleast 12 glasses of water.
For highlights, I think it’s technically considered ok, but it’s one of the many unknowns that one comes across regarding pregnancy. If I were you, I’d stay away from it, especially during the first trimester.

I did the colouring and high-lighting…didn’t have any problems…so did my sister.
Mehndi is fine…enjoy!
increase the fibre in your diet…I followed ammi’s advice and ate an apple a day for the duration of my pregnancy so never faced the problem of constipation.
I’m still in my first trimester. When did you do the highlights? After first trimester or during? Yes, my mom is so strict now on my diet. I’ve to have 2 glasses of milk, apple orange for sure and then snack times. Oh God, my mom… But apple and Colace are helping me big time. My mom also told me another desi nuskha. Pinch of salt and 1 teaspoon sugar mixed in warm water for constipation. Thanks to her.
Please consult your doctor for highlights / coloring.. Don’t look for advice here to make such decisions as everyone is speaking from their personal experience they are not physicians… No offense to anyone
I went to a salon SABS for getting the rebonding done 2 mnths back. The lady refused and told me its better not to take the risk. On the other hand Bina Khan is offering discount to pregnant ladies. Thanks Allah I didnt go thr straight.
There’s mixed responses to hair dying question. In my opinion it’s better to be safe than sorry. If you have even %1 doubt don’t do it. Hair coloring and highlights can defiantly wait
