I should be getting married in October in Islamabad Inshallah. Since im a british paki im not really aware of evrything the city has to offer. Im really worried about wedding planning as il only be able to go a month before the wedding for all preperations… Was wondering if some of you could help me out =)
Firstly i wanted to know about wedding venues. I have been told by family that there will be approx. 1000 guests and i wanted to know of some of the nicest places in ISB to cater for guests.
Also Hotspots for shopping! I had my nikkah done 2 summers ago and was taken to a shop called mohsins and sons, thankfully they took me there otherwise i was taken to places like moti bazaar which unfortunatly i wasnt really impressed with for wedding clothes, was hoping if some of you girls could point me towards the right direction. I should also be taking a trip to Lahore Inshallah just incase im not happy with what ISB has to offer so could you mention some nice boutiques and shaadi clothes shops there aswell.
Also wanted to know what the weather would be like around that time, should be hopefully towards the end of October…
erm.. one last thing (I think) Hair and Makeup!! lol the most important! when i went for my Nikkah i went to some lady who did my eye makeup amazingly but killed the foundation for me as she made me look unaturally white, after i had seen myself in the mirror i felt like crying even tho the pics came out nice, still would like to avoid that horror again so im planning to get al my makeup from here that way i can control what colour goes on my face lol! but could you please let me know of some good makeup artists within the vacinity
and and andd i really want to go for traditional red on my rukhsati and was wondering of any colour themes that would go with that. I know red and gold is really popular but i need sum more ideas
oh yea blush (sorry guys) was wondering if you could direct me to some great photographers! and was wondering if its possible to find any female photographers as i kind of get embarrassed with the male telling me to look up and pose lol!
a couple of my friends who got married in islamabad went to lahore for all their wedding shopping. maybe if you can take out a few days and go to lahore as well, i am sure you will be able to find everything you're looking for.
you can go to pindi as well but i doubt if you'll get as much variety as you will in lahore. silsila, a member here, started an awesome thread about her shopping experience in lahore. she listed all the stores she went to and the price ranges.
any chance you could post the link to that thread as im fairly new here and still working my way across all the different discussion groups you lot have here

dear faari , first of all wedding venues pc sadder is good place for 1000 guests u can also check laraib hall in I-8 markaz, there are also good hotels near rawal dam,convention centre rawal motel food is also very tasty,best western another one in F-7/2 ROHTAS pls visit the mentioned website it may help u bloomsinn cateringking you can also inquire about bahria town community hall if they offer then very good venue and nice place for poolside parties and functions ther is also krl hall and hanif rajput can arrange for u rajputcatering pls add .com with bloomsinn and rajputcatering and .net with cateringking as i am not allowed to send u links these are the answers of ur 1st questio acoording to my information will reply u soon about ur other quiries....................
dear faaari,reply for ur second question (good place for bridal clothes shopping ) is u can check murree road rawalpindi there are many good and latest shops for bridal wear FASHION KA GHAR,GOGO FASHIONS, BEAUTY and mohsin sons are also good.Jinnah super is good for jewellry but if possible then must visit patiala jewellers ,gulf jewellers and other names on murree road.inshallah u will find good and latest designs.now the third query sobias in chaklala scheme 3 is very good their photosession and photographer is also very professional.daniella in F/7 is good but she is having lady photographer as well but the rates for lady is more than male.faizas in G-10 is also well reputed. my personal experiance is with daniella and sobia but i found sobia more reasonable in makeup,photosession as well as in rates.phone no for sobia,s is 0092512851647.wedding planner can also help u in these issues wedding planners name of studio event F/7-2 ph is 0300-5382670. subbo is very much right about china market good for unstitched suits.May Allah bless u with all bounties.thanks
hiya faari,was just about to mention a few of the places pygmypuff did. Im going to Pakistan in July as my 2 best friends are getting married. We are also going from the UK and dont know much about Islamabad but our aunties/uncles have done bits of research for us. Do check out Murree rd and yh Lahore if u get a chance(theres more variety). A lot of designers are based there as well as bridal boutiques(hopefully reasonable prices we hope) Hoping all goes well for u and ur fam:)

ohh yh defo,il be back late August but will know all the places so will let u know. Im just worried about bein ripped off like always especially cuz prices have increased dramatically. If I get a chance,will find out info on the venues,wasnt going to cuz friends getting married at home and the other in her uncles hotel which isnt very big so u wouldnt be able to fit ur 1000 guests in there. For makeup wherever u go,make sure u get a trial before and its best if u take ur own foundation(we dont trust em,even my friends taking their own). Best of luck,inshalah ul be fine:)

yeaa i totally understand about being ripped off! but we always take my phupo with us evrywhere and she sets them straight coz as soon as they get a hint of our accents they start putting the prices really high! lol suppose its all business tho but make sure u take sum1 whose familiar with prices with u!! Im hoping to get trials done but just wanted a few good make up artists to chek out so i dnt have to go through a process of elimination with rubbish artists lol Hope you have a safe journey there and back pari =)

I'm so glad, you didn't go to Moti Bazar. It's a horrendous place lol. There are a few other shops near Mohsin n sons who do some amazing clothes. I forgot the name of this shop but it's right at the end of the shops on the right hand side of Mohsin n Sons. Of they say they'll make an oufit in 2 days, they actually will do that. There are a few boutiques in F.7 (Islamabad) near Chen One, do check them out. FKG has some unique designs. Sobia Nazir is also located there.
If you haven't bought your jewellery yet, i'd say you are better off getting it from Lahore.
Waseem Jewellers in Lahore is a good place to shop for jewellery. They are in Liberty Market, Gulberg. Karat Jewellers have some decent designs but I don’t have their details You could ask someone for that perhaps.
believe me no one was more horrified then i was after cheking it out lol the worst thing was i was so scared they were gna MAKE me chose sumink from moti bazaar!! thank god they took me to a better place after that! but yea thanks for letting me know about that place which makes clothes in 2 days! thats amazing! lol
