Most of my Hindu friends wear rings, sometimes 2-3 on the same hand. They are mostly silver but some are gold too. Almost all of them have a stone … i.e. no bands.

Certain stones have certain cultural affinities..
A lot of people wear stones for astrological benefits. Coral, saphire, diamond and ruby seem to be the most popular ones, according to what the astrologer reccemmends.
Hum, come to think of it, those Hindus who were born & raised here tend to shy away from it, so must be cultural rather than religious.
