The ‘‘use’’ would be to identify any known or unknown terrorists afterwards. Any security detail would add covering such a base with 360 cameras as a start. Even an amateur would. To argue against that is hilarious.

Having an outer layer security prevents attacks from occuring on the strucutre itself.

If the outer defenses are breached of the Pentagon, the interior forces will be alerted and quickly respond becuase it will take time for the attackers to go from the outer perimeter of complex to the inner complex.

Same thing applies to other heavily fortified sites like CIA HQ, NSA HQ, NASA HQ, New York Stock Exchange, 10 Downing Street, White House, Nuclear Power Plants, etc.

Thats how the security apparatus works.

If you move your stringent security measures to interior of the complex, you get Karma, Mehran Base and Pak GHQ type attacks.

Where attackers easily penetrate the base and they have to fought back.
