You know, this is just an age old game between parents and children. Parents say they deserve the right to marry their kids to whom they wish, kids say they its their life. I say its all this Eastern culture derived from Indian roots for arranged marriages and total control.
Its not that hard to get married. Hell, if it weren't for all this bull, I bet more than half of us would be married and content with our lives. Its just too many demands these days along with expectations.

To a lot of desi parents, marriage is such a major thing that there is no way they would give their kids a chance of arranging their own marriage.
Sad fact of life :(
Apparently, it's a lot easier for children to arrange their own marriages in a lot of arab cultures.
so do you gups think there's a way to get desi parents to try and give their children a bit more slack...that is if the candidate that they have in mind is a good good muslim with morals, a good personality etc?
