As-salam-o-aleikom everybody!
ok, so i don’t usually visit this section of gupshup, but i’ve been coming here for the last couple of days and call me dumb, or a moron but please can anyone tell me **besides sunnis and shias what are the other groups in islam, like wahabis may be

and what are differences between each of them, especially between sunnis and shias?**
And it’s not my fault that i dunno anything about it OR may be it.

There are no other grops besides shia and sunni farwa.But there are sub-groups within these two.For example those people reffered to as wahabis are definitely sunni.The only two major groups are Sunni and Shia.Rest are branches of these.I must remind you however that it is unfortunate that these branches exist.

You been coming here for a few days and don’t know that yet?

PS: Watcher, actually I dont prefer to run after anti sites. Its ones inner expression for others... not a true info.

Do you think the hindu running an anti-islamic site has a pinch of truth in it? For them it is... and so is vice-versa.

I wasn’t trying to make fun of you.It’s just that there are so many shia-sunni threads going on here.But sorry.ok?
Now as for differences.Do you want to know about the differences between shia and sunni only?Or do you want to know about the differences between ALL sects?If it’s the earlier I can tell you about that but if it’s the later then hmmmm,72 sects…I don’t even know all their names.

I only know about the major ones found in sub-continent.
But farwa,I don’t understand why you want to know about all the groups and their differences?You should know that most of them are really silly anyway.And besides you may spent years and still not know all of them.The agreements of course are more than differences but unfortunately nowadays more emphasis is laid on the differences.It would be better use of your time to try to learn more about islam in general,what it means for young people,people in the west and how you can follow it in YOUR life.You don’t need to know about sects to do that.The only BIG differences occur between shia and sunni and Sis I think you know what you are there,right?
