the bit in blue doesn't make sense when compared to the jealousy bit at the start of ur sentence
something unheard of ever and does not seem right exactly!
polygamy in Islam is an exception, not a rule…
and Islam allows polygamy ONLY under certain conditions, and that too with the emphasis on marrying ONLY ONE…
its a misconception… :nono:
Brother armughal so what are the conditions??
barak'allahu feekum
Ok I searched for this hadith on the web and found out that it is quoted in a lot of Non-Muslim anti-Islam sites and the author says this is a saying of Hazrat Ali :RA: but I'm not gonna believe it until someone gives the volume, chapter and the hadith number of this quote!
I looked up the word jealous in my hadith collection and I found this hadith:
*Book 14, Number 2653:
Narrated Jabir ibn Atik:
The Prophet (peace_be_upon_him) said: **'' There is jealousy which Allah loves and jealousy which Allah hates. That which Allah loves is jealousy regarding a matter of doubt, and that which Allah hates is jealousy regarding something which is not doubtful. **There is pride which Allah hates and pride which Allah loves. That which Allah loves is a man's pride when fighting and when giving sadaqah and that which Allah hates is pride shown by oppression. The narrator Musa said: "by boasting." ''
from Sunan Abu Dawud's collection ]*
I didn't really get the meaning of it though.....can anyone explain it please?
hmm ..... or he muj ko confused kar diya ... i will come back with the source .....
Found it in a book called “Nahjul Balagha”](http://www.al-huda.com/NB%20INTRODUCTION.htm)
“Jealousy in woman is unpardonable but in man it is a sign of his faith in religion (because Islam has permitted polygamy and prohibited polyandry).”**
does it mean women should not be jealous of her husband's other wives?
It’s a shia’s website:) but again it is the beleive of those brothers and sisters.. I really dun wanna comment on it… just that I found it not appropriate according to what i know (ofcourse due to my Aqeedah of Ahl-e-sunnah wal jama’at) and that it contradicts many teachings of Quran as far as i can see.. Wallah-O-Alam!
