Question: When you pray....?

Praying adds to your actions, and make them align with Allah's will.

However if you don't act and don't fulfill the prerequisites for whatever you are doing, then prayers alone will not work. It shows Allah Mian that you are not serious about your objectives, and do not put 110% of your efforts, then why would He send the angels to help out a lazy bum (not that I am saying you are one).

Here are two examples.

  1. If you want to get first position in your class. But you eat, sleep and make marry, but do not study, and keep praying for first position. Then it won't happen. It means you are expecting Allah swt to bend His rules of fairness and help someone who is unwilling to get his @rse off the couch.

  2. A husband and wife keep on praying to have a child, but they do not make sure that the her egg and his sperm could meet (either in the womb or if medically necessary, in the test tube), thus unfulfilling the basic preconditions for making a a baby, then prayers won't help.

So the bottom line is:

  1. Act (upto 110% of your God given abilities)
  2. Pray

Then only then Allah swt may make your dreams come true.
However if even after acting AND praying the dreams are not met, then there must be Allah's will. And Allah surely have plans for the believers that are way beyond the limits of us the mere mortals.

May Allah make your dreams come true.

Ameen.
