Question to Sunni Shia friends!

Assalam alaikym everyone. I would like to ask shia/sunnis a question. Please share you views.

Quran calls Hadrath Imam Hussein’s (a.s)shahadat as zibahy azeem (greatest killing), no problems there.
Now my question is related to Imam hussein’s shahadat.

reading upon the story of karbala (both shia and sunni sources), a history student will find Imam Hussein calling himself IMAM and Hujjat e khuda, so how come some people dont believe in Imamat?

For those who have little knowlege of event of karbala, will know how Imam Hussein stopped Imam Zain ul abidin (as) from coming to battle field while everyone else with Imam hussein got shaheed (even 6 month old Ali Asghar). There must’ve been some great purpose behind that?

I mean Imam Zainul abid’s 6month old brother is taken to battle field personally bu the holy imam while Imam Zainul abidin is told to stay back?. It was obviously because he was to become the following Imam After Imam Hussein (as).

My question is still how come there are still muslims who dont believe in Imamat?
They have read all these khutbas from Imam Hussein and yet they dont believe in Imamat?

I read in Sahih Muslim a very famous hadith saying “Hasan and Hussain are Imams, no matter sitting or standing”. Sahihs are very trusted book among muslims and they are full of hadiths about Imams. So how come muslims except for a handful dont know anything about Imams/Imamat.

I have had this question in mind for long time.
Please sunni brothers share your views. I have no intentions to hurt anyone’s feelings, so please be nice.
Thank you and Allah Hafiz.

QURAN???

I think maybe pathan bhai meant hazrat ismael(r.a.) but what in the world does that have to do with his questions is beyond me.
And pathan bhai the meaning of the word imam in arabic can be interpreted in many ways, depending on its usage in the arabic language which is quite varied. The use of this word does not appoint anyone the sole 'imam' in the way shias believe in that concept.I hope that clears up your 3rd and last question.
And what khutbas of Hazrat hussein(r.a.) are you talking about?

"Quran calls Hadrath Imam Hussein's (a.s)shahadat as zibahy azeem (greatest killing), no problems there."
Can you please provide the reference from Quran where this is mentioned? I read Quran twice and have not come up with any ayat regarding Hadrath Imam Hussein. Are you sure you don't mean Hadith? I would like to kindly know which ayat you are referring to in Quran? Thank you

Al.Qamar 54:17 And We have indeed made the Qur'an easy to understand and remember: then is there any that will receive admonition?

I think no muslim in the world denies Hazrat Hasain (R.A) as not being imam. But the way some shias have faith in imamat is a very different concept. Less than 10 % of muslims in the world have that faith of imamat. I have no trouble if you believe in shia imamat so why r u troubled with sunni concept of imammat?

Why they don't believe in Imamat???

Because if they do you'd have to stop calling me Shia and them Sunni ...

Don't you dare post dirty stuff in this forum...
Mail it to me at [email protected] .

Imaam hussain in quran? Now isn't that wishful thinking? Isn't that twisting the verses of ALlah and following your desires pathan bahi? Don't you want it so badly that one of your imams was in Quran? Well, get this, none of them is. So get over it.

NO references, I feel like in a typical shia post.

Get some referneces buddy!!! I bet you are working on them! hehe

Take it easy, my friend!

Hey watcher, my question was to Muslims not to wahabis.....DREAM ON BUDDY!

Pathan bhai,

Does that make a difference? When you begin your post making specifically making a claim that the Qu'ran states something, and you don't mention the specific verses then its only natural for people to question the validity of your claim, regardless of their religious background.

Pathan Bhai: Did you find the reference you mentioned?

he is looking hard and believe me he will find or create it.

The verse you are referring to is about the sacrifice of an animal on Eid Adha.

When Allah SWT told Prophet Ibrahim AS in his dream to sacrifice Hazrat Ismail AS, Hazrat Ibrahim AS, after telling his son, went ahead with the order of Allah SWT. And right when Hazrat Ibrahim AS was about to perform the 'zabeeha' of Hazrat Ismail AS, Allah SWT replaced him with a ram sent down from the heavens. Because of the heavenly status of the ram, Allah SWT calls it "zibh 'in azeem". And follows it by saying that this is being left for the generations to come. Which means that this sacrifice was to become a yearly practice among the future muslim generations, something we practice to this day.

Surah Al-Saafaat #37
107. And We ransomed him (Ismail) with a momentous sacrifice(ram):

  1. And We left (this blessing) for him among generations (to come) in later times:

man.. i find this wierd.. how can people so easily call people in a different sect non-muslims...... kinda destroys the purpose of discussion if all you really want to do is prove yourself right...!

Pathan Bhai: Going forward from your comments, would you agree or disagree that Islam was completed when Allah said it was completed?
