Question to Shias: Imam Hussain A.S. ?

Salaam,

No harm meant, just an honest question as to why Shias put A.S. after the family of the Prophet pbuh.

While sunnis put r.a. for the family. and A.S. for the Prophets.

Re: Question to Shias: Imam Hussain A.S. ?

not sure if this is official doctrine, but I think shias dont really put R.A. or say R.A. for anyone. I mean you can say it but you could just as well say anything to express respect. The A.S. is from the durood, Allahumma salle ala muhammad wa aale muhammad kama sallayta ala ibrahima wa aale ibrahim, afaik.

Re: Question to Shias: Imam Hussain A.S. ?

Please stick to the topic.

Re: Question to Shias: Imam Hussain A.S. ?

IMHO, this probably has to do with the idea that the household (aal) of Muhammad was to carry on the legacy of being the aouliyaa/imaameen for mankind, just as prophets had been so for their respective nations in the past: A kind of differenciation that their involvement in leading the ummah was vital.

But as sunnis would say, Allah Knows Best :)

Re: Question to Shias: Imam Hussain A.S. ?

Hmm could be!
So they're in essence free from sin, and masoom, like the Prophets? pbut?
Why aren't shias answering this?

Re: Question to Shias: Imam Hussain A.S. ?

hey, i just did.

Re: Question to Shias: Imam Hussain A.S. ?

r.a mean ALLAH un sey razi hoon, its usually used for people who commited sins or were kafir bfr and then were converted, like ur 1st three caliphs. I dun think there is a a problem using r.a for Quiad-e-azam and we can say Allama Iqbal r.a.

Now Imam Hussain a.s never commited sin in his life and u dun wana know when u accpeted islam so lets to talk abt that .... SO when someone didnt commit a sin why use r.a for him and y not a.s ???

Re: Question to Shias: Imam Hussain A.S. ?

^Ur rhetoric aside, ra, actually means, those with whom God "is" satisfied. Refers to a verse of Quran where Allah declares that he is satisfied with momineen and momineen are satisfied with him.

Re: Question to Shias: Imam Hussain A.S. ?

If it really means those whom with ALLAH is staisfyed then who are we to classify someone as momin ??? isnt that what we leave for ALLAH to deside ??? i mean whats the prupse of waiting for day of judgment when we start classyfying people as momin or not momin in this world ?

Re: Question to Shias: Imam Hussain A.S. ?

Actually Immamat is another name of Prophet hood, according to Shia, all the Imam are cleaned from the earthly sins and they are directly taught by Jebrial (AS). As we all know thay AS is only for Prophets and Imams are prophets according to shia doctrine so they right (AS) from them.

They are free to believe what ever they want to believe.

Re: Question to Shias: Imam Hussain A.S. ?

correction
jibrael teaching Imam's a.s is not a shia believe, No one taught Imam a.s beside Mohammed s.a.w him self ( or other Imams like Hazrat Ali a.s )
Prophets r not Imams , prophets are Prophets, Imams are Imams.

These are wahabi believes that Jibrael a.s taught Mohammed s.a.w, Mohammed s.a.w who is leader of all prophets a.s which includes Adam a.s
When ALLAH asked a question to all angels they didnt know but Adam a.s knew, that makes adam more knowledge able. and Rasool s.a.w is his leader too ...
