when you guys know from a particular thread title and its content that it is going to take a turn for the worse and going to turn into a battle ground why dont you just delete it instead of just editing the title of the thread.
If us “normal” guppies are not allowed to create fights or open up threads which will ignite fights then it is also mods duties to close down those threads which are of this nature.

No one can predict what turn a thread is going to take, very innocent looking thread can take a wrong turn that is when mods intervene. On the same note a very controversial looking thread can turn into a very productive one. It is AV , we try to keep the intervention to minimum and let the posters exercise self control.

Because if we just go by what we assume will happen, people complain that they are being unfairly punished, since they haven't actually done anything wrong. And perhaps we (foolishly?) believe in the maturity of our members.
Haven't you seen Minority Report? Things didn't go well.
