I am not sure where are you coming from but waking her up does not automatically mean that there is a laundry list waiting for her. Waking her up might be for a morning walk together, or spending some time together while kids are sleeping or anything else.
and sorry to burst your bubble but “he/she can do whatever he/she wants to” looks really good on paper but this is not how the dynamics of family work. When you have a family, you HAVE to do somethings that you might not do if you are single. You have rights and responsibilities both.
Some 8-10 years ago when my wife did not drive, she used to wake me up sometimes to get milk for our little one. Did that make me driver? NO
