Again,there is ABSOLUTELY no point in claiming one religion's supreiority over the other. Its a plain matter of faith which none can prove with a whit of evidence. If Islam has over a billion followers around the globe, Hinduism has 850 million and has stood the test of time for 6500 years now(The earliest hindu inscriptions were found from the harappan civilization).Its a pure simple matter of faith.
Lets try to understand the other's religion from a point of a believer's perspective. Any religion can lays claims to its ligitimacy ONLY from the believer's perspective. If any of us are asked to scientifically prove tall religious claims that can stand the scrutinity of intensive experiments, we'll all have to run for cover.

let me tell you once there was a man who believed in idols but his son didnt. Everyday he used to put a plate full of sweets in front of them. one day the man went out and his son broke all the idols except 1. later when the father found out he realised the son did this and asked why. the son denied this and made a suggestion he said that the idols must have took all the sweets except for one idol so the one who didnt eat then killed the others. furiously the man replied this couldnt have happened cos thay cant move so he couldnt have broken them
happy that his point was proven the son said dad come to your senses if they cant move how can they give you anything?!

Read my last post.About miracles,please do go ahead and tell me the miracles in Islam. Who are the neutral observers who have testified to its veracity. Which technical journals have these "miracles" been published in and what kind of neutral scrutiny have they withstood. I want to make fuel cells work today. Why don't look into the miracles so that we may find a way and not have to spend years doing so. If heaven and god is so conclusively proved, lowly fuel cells should be easy to make right?????

we do not believe in reincarnation or transmigration. we believe in the concept of resurrection, man being brought back to life in the hereafter, physically and spiritually.Man will continue to live spiritually after his death, as spirit never dies.. Recreation of man requires both body and soul., however the koran does not state whether the soul is physical or non physical by proclaiming the knowledge of the soul is beyond human comprehension.
Islam in itself is a complete way of life, we are instructed on how to conduct ourselves from dusk till dawn, how and what to pray and at what times, how to intercourse within society, men and women, even how to eat and breathe.. so if it is a complete way of life and one follows it accordingly then we cannot fail to please almighty, why would we want to live a different lifestyle to that prescribed by the all knowing.

About islam being a way of life, how relevant is it when times have changed incredibly especially since the rennaisance. My dad has a EE degree that he got in 1962 and they did not in any way visualize such a creature as the internet by then.It has so profoudly changed our lives.From the printing press to cylinder-piston driven engines to small mechanical devices to awesome transport systems and finally today to the era of semiconductors,our life has changed in every conceivable way. We challenge ourselves mentally in answering the most difficult of questions. When no religion has even hinted even remotely at such wonderful changes, how can any be claimed as a way of life today. Is it just coincidence that the rennaisance occured just as the people were kicking the church out of their everyday lives??? Its a question that followers of all religion should answer--Is religion having a calamitous effect on our thinking and the ability to reason well. Its especially pertinent to Islam as christianity,hinduism,buddhism or judaism do not in any way dictate how we should live daily.

I went thru half of the replies and was DISGUSTED BY THE MUSLIM brothers and sisters comments. What in the world is wrong with you people? Who in the world has given us the status to go around JUDGING which religion is right for whom! Did God send you a wahi to confront Hindus for NO reasons? I will try to quote same words but do check for any mistake . From Al-bakra, God states "And Jews says , Christians will go to Hell lest they follow our creed and Christians say, Jews will go to hell lest they follow our creed. I would like to answer this question of yours about Islam being primitive. According to your question, I do not think you should have ANY problem admitting that there is really in no doubt that the West dominates the world today, economically. All rules are set by the West of what and how. And Islam stands at a very unique position as its teaching is completely different from the West which is more materialized. Now due to the rules implimented on Islam, there isnt much space for Islam to grow. If you notice, from Turkey to Pakistan, all muslim countries Bow to their US gods. Comon lets be frank here! And if they dont bow then we all have seen what happened to Taliban and and what will happen to Iraq.
History bears witness that Muslims prospered from Turkey to the Sub-continent. Its almost half of the worlds land! And if you read the History, Baghdad was a very advance City with Libraries and Schools...
With so much of power, Muslims started to get corrupt. and eventually they lost all the power. Today Muslims are in a pathetic condition around the world.
So basically if you analyse, its not the religion which is pulling the Muslims back, but its the Muslims who have forgotten the teachings.

There is no doubt that the few centuries after the advent of Islam,belonged to it in terms of domination in science,Math and Astronomy. The discoveries in these spheres had far reaching consequences and is well documented as coming from muslims. How many of this was from the Madrasa system as practised then. Was the curriculum in the madrasa system tuned to teaching science & math then?? In that case it would be akin to an organized effort that the rennaisance was. Or was it just a product of a drive that a few individual scholars had?? Actually I would like to have some good references on this period.
