Which passport are you carrying if you don’t mind my asking? And for how many hours, exactly, will you be staying in Dubai? If it’s more than 24 hours and less than 96 hours, then you only need a transit visa. (i think, i may be wrong, but as far as i remember, there is no fee for applying for this type of visa as long as you’re not staying beyond 96 hours). Since you are flying to Dubai, i assume you’re going on Emirates or Gulf Air, or something like that right? These types of local-based airlines (that have branches in the UAE) should arrange something for you. If you don’t have an Emirates or GA travel agency in your city, then you might have some problems. Try contacting them through their website, they must have some 1-800 # and ask them for help.
Bear in mind one more thing, that the transit visa only applies if you are travelling from a particular place to Dubai, and onwards to another destination that is different than your point of departure, not if you are returning back to your original departure point from Dubai. hmm i mean that - if you are flying from X to another place via Dubai (for less than 96 hours), then your transit visa applies ONLY if you are going from X-Dubai-Z, not if you are going X-Dubai-X. The point of departure has to be different than the ultimate destination. Don’t ask me why they have this rule, but last time i checked - it was there. They still have this rule on the dubai governmental website. i don’t know how quick they are with their queries, but you could drop them an e-mail and verify the above http://portal.dubai-e.gov.ae/http://web-vgn.dubai-e.gov.ae:8083/egovd/cda/main/Home_Page (That’s their English version). The website is slow to load up but it does, eventually.
Be very, very careful about overstaying and the legalities of your visa - the officials at the UAE airports are notorious for being grouchy and noncooperative (unless you’re related to the sheikh). i’ve experienced this too many times myself so make sure everything is in order before you leave.
I missed a flight in dubai once ..... i stayed in an Airport hotel and got a 24 hours stay visa for some money at the airport, wasn't too expensive.... and i got to see the city a little bit too.
yes, well when you arrive at the airport, you have to go to the relevant office, ask for a 24 hours visa. What they do is that they will keep your passport so that you will come back after or during 24 hours.... everyone does that and it becomes there responsibility to return it to you when yoiu come for your flight.
They issue a 24 hours visa and might include the hotel stay if you wanted. It should cost you less than a 100 bucks if it hasn't changed during the last couple of years, including hotel stay.
US, Canadian, & European passport holders DO NOT require a visa. Upon arrival they are issued a visa at da passport conrol section.
Other passport holders - If ur travelling with Emirates airlines, they will issue u a visa starting from 55 dollars.
Hotels arrange 4 visas too. If u have any problems at the airport, I'm ready 2 help u out. I work but not as an airline or a hotel rep. Lets just say I'm doing good 2 myself by helping "musafirs".
I am travelling on my dearest Pakistani passport so i have to arrange for lots of visas( for Australia and Singapure and Dubai) ..
So from ur replies It seems that I can get the dubai visa upon Arrival and dont have to arrange it beforehand......
Je oonaah ne visa na dita te tuhaadi saab di khair nei fair :D
