Question regarding killer of Hazrat Ali(a.s)

The guy who killed Hazrat Ali, when and how and by whom was he killed, as far as I remember, he was tied up after being caught but with the instructions for Hazrat Ali the people loosen the grip of his rope and then offered him water…AND THEN WHAT?? How was he punished? One more question I also heard that Hazrat Ali knew who his killer was gonna be, isn’t it?

:rotato:

The guy who martyred Hazrat Ali :kaw: was known by the name of Samuel Goldman…He was a businessman from New York who worked on Wall Street and being a Jew he decided to kill the last Khalifa…

:smack:

Little human…Let us worry about the living for now…The dead rest peacefully…Let’s not disturb them…:flower1:

I thought we learn from the past…

I was just wondering how Hazrat Ali instructed his murdurer to be treated/punished for what he did coz I think Hazrat Ali died on the 3rd day of his injury so maybe he might have told others how to treat “that guy”, what i wanted to know was what might Hazrat Ali have instructed , if indeed he did, for treatment/punishment of that killer.

how did i disturb the dead?

:bailan: for laju

Yeah? Well stand in line…There are already quite a few ahead of you…

The guy who attacked Hazrat Ali (RA) was Abdul-Rehman ibn Maljam. Hazrat Ali (RA) instructed that if he (Ali RA) would die from his wounds, they should kill the attacker.

Thanks Ganja…(Ganja as in hairless or Ganja as in Charas…:konfused: )

Anyway, if I die kill Little Human…

Here is what I found searching the Peak of Eloquence...if anyone is interested

**Abdul Rehman was caught by Sasa-ibne-Sohan and was brougt before Hazrath All. Hands of the mur_derer where tied behind his back. Hazrath saw that the ropes were cutting into the flesh of the murderer. He forgot the wound of his dead, the blow which was to end his life and to cut his career in its prime, he forhot that Abdul Rehman was murderer, all that he saw was a humanbeing subjected to unhuman torture. He ordered the Muslims to loosen the hands of Abdul Rehman and to treat the man more humanly. The kindness touched the murderer and he started weeping. A smile played on those lips and in faint voice he said "It is too late to repent now, you have done your deed. Was I a bad Imam or a un_kind ruler?".

He lived two days after this event and in that interval whenever he found time he delivered a few sermons (sermon No. 152 is one of them). In those sermons and with his dying breath he expressly ordered that no harshness should be used towards his murde_rer, who should be executed, if the heirs of Hazrath Ali so desire, with one blow, he should not be tortured before death, his dead body should not be mutilated, members of his family should not suffer on account of his crime and his property should not be conriscated. He designated his son Imam Hussan (A.S.) as his Vicegenerent.

It was the fortieth year of Hijra. A fanatical group called Kharijites, consisting of people who had broken away from Ali due to his compromise with Muawiya, claimed that neither Ali, the Caliph, nor Muawiya, the ruler of Syria, nor Amr bin al-Aas, the ruler of Egypt, were worthy of rule. In fact, they went so far as to say that the true caliphate came to an end with 'Umar and that Muslims should live without any ruler over them except God. They vowed to kill all three rulers, and assassins were dispatched in three directions.

The assassins who were deputed to kill Muawiya and Amr did not succeed and were captured and executed, but Ibn-e-Muljim, the assassin who was commissioned to kill Ali, accomplished his task. One morning when Ali was absorbed in prayer in a mosque, Ibn-e-Muljim stabbed him with a poisoned sword. On the 20th of Ramadan, 40 A.H., died the last of the Rightly Guided Caliphs of Islam. May God Most High be pleased with them and grant to them His eternal reward.

Imam Ali was assassinated in Kufa by the most evil of Allah's creation; Abdelrahman bin Muljim, a Khariji, on the twenty first of Ramadhan year 40 A.H.; of an age of 63 years that were spent in serving Allah's cause upholding justice, and establishing God's rule on earth.

The Imam called for the prayer, and went down, reciting invocations and praising God. He then went to his niche and began to pray. Ibn Muljim knew that this was his chance. He stood behind the Imam and waited until the Imam prostrated and raised his head and hit him hard on it. The Imam fell on his face. Yet he did not moan; instead he said; "In the name of Allah, and on the religion of His Messenger". Then he shouted at the murderer saying: "Ibn Muljim killed me, the son of the Jewish women killed me. I have won by the Lord of Kaa'ba. I have won by the Lord of Kaa'ba".

People started to gather around the Imam who kept on trying to press on the wound and covering it with sand. Then he recited the following verse: "From the earth We have created you, and to the earth We shall restore you; and from it We will bring back (to life)" (Taha:55).

By the time some of the Imam's followers arrested Ibn Muljim and brought him to the Amir. Al-Hassan (A.S.) addressed his father saying; "We have brought in your enemy and the enemy of Allah". The Commander of the Faithful opened his eyes and saw Ibn Muljim whose hands were tied and whose sword was lying over his neck, and said in a faint but merciful voice: "You have committed a grave wrong. Have I not been a good Imam, to deserve such a penalty".

Many wars broke out between the Muslims and the non-Muslims. The battles, time after time, showed Imam Ali’s (AS) heroism. He fought like a lion. No one could stand alive if he stood in the Imam's (AS) way. Imam Ali’s (AS) sword proved time and time again that he was unbeatable. He could kill hundreds at once.

His bravery and courage was well known by everyone. It was well known that it would be impossible to defeat the Imam (AS) in battle, obviously since the Almighty was watching over him. So the disbelieving cowards conspired to kill the Imam (AS) while he was offering prayer to Allah, because it was well known that when Imam Ali (AS) prayed, his complete devotion was to Allah and no distraction whatsoever could interfere with his worship.
