Question on Salat (Split from Dress Code thread)

sadzzz, not that I wanna make fun of you or anything, I’m just interested in knowing exactly when and how you offer your salaat if you don’t believe in hadiths…can you explain it if you don’t mind?

^ the question you should ask yourself CorruptAngel is whether the way YOU are offering salat is in line with the Qur'an.

Our practices, rituals and all other acts have to be verified by the Qur'an.. not the other way around.. if we do something that our elders taught us which we don't find in the Qur'an.. it doesn't make Qur'an an incomplete book.. it's only a moment of epiphany for us to realize we've just been following and not reading and understanding our religion ourselves.

The Million Dollar Question

Hadith was compiled 300 or more years after the death of the Prophet. How did they say their prayers before that? :konfused:

aaah do i see some kinda judgemental thing happening here CA.. ? :)

i dont need to go to the hadiths to find out how to pray... i opened a book on namaz... it was written in english, english/arabic and arabic.. and taught myself...

now are u asking how many sajde i do? or how many rakat i read? so far no one has ever told me i read it wrong.... yes sometimes when my nose accidently touches the ground... someone is always ready to point out... 'ur not supposed to do that!'.. my question to people who question each others authenticity of reading namaz....

'what are u doing when praying?? shouldnt u concentrate on ur own salat rather than someone else's?'

ciaoz

exactly :k:

compiled as books after that many years.. but ahadeeth were there.. the sayings and ways of prophet :saw: were there since the beginning my dear:) if u know the arab culture of that time itself, memorization was the whole key

so as long as things r not compiled into a book they dont exist???

did the Quran fall down from the sky as a printed book (was it the mcgraw hill or cambridge press)???

exactly :k:

I want one thing clear before I reply to the rest of your post...Can you please point out to what I said in my post which made you think I was being judgmental?

ps.
I'm gonna reply tomorrow since right now it's time for me to go to bed...

I really didn't wanna open a separate thread...It was better if I'd pm you about it but oh well,..

PakistaniAbroad I agree with you but not entirely. Anyways, I didn’t mean to make fun of any of you. I just wanted to know how sadzzz offers a prayer since it’s not clearly explained(not under one chapter/order) in Quran on how to offer salat but I think I did read some rules of salat in Quran…Maybe she can help me out you know…

Paaga| |nsaan I see someone else answered your question already. Please don’t post anymore questions HERE. If you really wanna ask a question then open another thread. Will appreciate it a lot. :flower1:

Armughal & Gadha Thanks for answering their qs while I wasn’t here. I agree with what you both said…:k:

Yes they don't. There's a hell lot of a difference between Hadith and Sunnah, and if the Hadith books had not been compiled, we would've known them from the Sunnah of the prophet.

If Jesus can fall down from the sky, why can't koran??

hey sadzzz..it’s okay…

The method of namaz in that book is based on Quran and hadiths so this means you do follow ‘some’ hadiths; you do use books other than the Quran. Good to know! :k: I think no matter how much we try to discard the sunnah of Muhammed(pbuh) we’ll still be dependent on it(as long as those hadiths don’t contradict Quran).

I think it’s a good thing if you read the translation of namaz… makes more sense and feels better to say the words when you know their meaning. Here’s an interesting thread on salat you might wanna check out.

ps.
Mods you can close this thread if you want..
