Question on Gifts

Hi Girls,

I have a few friends weddings coming up to attend and wanted to know if its custom to give the bride a gift on the Dholki function?

Also any ideas on some great wedding presents? And again, are gifts given to the couple on both wedding day and walima day?

Usually the gift giving has been primarily from my parents but now some of my friends are getting married and iā€™m not sure what to get them.

i dont think gifts are given on dholki's, unless its a really close friend and you feel like it.

and i think gifts are only given on weddings, not weddings and valimas.

as for gift ideas, hrm... depends on the couple and their lifestyle and what you think they would like. its better to give a personalized gift and not a generic something or the other :)

for example, my cousin is a really great artist so she's making a painting for her bff's engagement coming up in the summer. she also gave me one for my birthday which i love!
