Question of Values

I went to an event put on by Indian and Middle Eastern students to go see what it was. In the beginning it was just dances kind of like a talent show. Later on it became like a dance…like you know school dance type. I stayed for 10 mins and then left. I feel bad, but did nothing wrong at ALL. So this question is more based on cultural and religious values…what I did, was it wrong? I would prefer more conservative answer’s based on religion and the Pakistani cultural values.
Thanks

Re: Question of Values

Right you sat around did nothing and you are upset about what exactly? Logic it out. You break a rule of Islam? You commit a sin? If both answers are no you need to learn to relax. Smoke a joint it will do wonders.

Re: Question of Values

i think u missed out on the fun

Re: Question of Values

How could you look yourself in the mirror anymore? Have you thought abput self flagellation. You might not be able to save your soul anymore but hell might be familiar.

Re: Question of Values

I guess its just that I feel bad because I never went to a dance before. And its like I guess I just keep thinking what if my mom saw me there then what would I have done. Or I wonder if she would be mad. I just feel little guilty although I know I didn't do anything wrong.

lussi: I said CONSERVATIVE views....thanks

Re: Question of Values

just cuz ur conservative mean u cant have fun?

again it depends on whats the definition of fun. Some people enjoy socilaizing, music and dancing but if u dont then thats ur perogrative. Do whatever makes you happy. It is as simple as that.

Re: Question of Values

Is it just me or have paki women given up their claim to common sense? I mean what exactly do you want? A pat on the back for the fact that you left? I mean you did nothing wrong. Heck a nun would have done something. You didn't. Now go to bed.

Re: Question of Values

piyari83, you sound confused deary. :) You answered your own question in your post and of course you did the right thing. I would have done the same.

Re: Question of Values

Dimag: Thanks. I guess I just wanted to know what others would have done. I know in today’s society and esp in our culture their is a lot of finger pointing that this girl is bad and that girl is bad.

I mean I do have fun, but I just don’t want to go over the limit.
And no I am not a NUN ok…I just like to have my fun with a group of girls. And if I wanted to dance I would dance with girls not in a mixed crowd. And this social event was a mixed crowd. So I just felt a little bad…

Re: Question of Values

i dont think u did anything wrong

Re: Question of Values

Re: Question of Values

Re: Question of Values

Ya they were asking me to dance…but I just felt weird in the situation. But it was funny because they were doing dandia dance to some rap song that was on…something like its your birthday not a holiday…patha nahi gana konsa tha. But it was really funny. I was too busy laughing.

Re: Question of Values

relax yar :D You did what you felt you should do. And that can never be wrong :)
