Question - Is this method of praying Tahajjud right?

I pray Tahajjud like people here told me, set of two rakah namaz (altogether 12)…just like one would pray any nafl namaz…i.e. recite any surah one wants this one however is something different…does that mean i have been praying the wrong way? (this method is however mentioned in Tahajjud - which is a shia site).

** *** TIME (WAQT)*****

***[FONT=Comic Sans MS]The time for praying Salatul-Layl is from midnight (midnight is reckoned as the time which is exactly half the time between sunset and the actual dawn) to the time of Adhan for Fajr prayers. However, it can be prayed at anytime after Isha prayers but it is better to pray during the last part of the night near to the time of Fajr prayers. If it is not possible to pray after midnight or before Fajr, then it can be prayed in the morning or any part of the day with the niyyah (intention) of Qadha. It is better to pray with the niyyah of Qadha during the day time than to pray in the early part of the night.

Note: According to [Ayatullah Seestani,](http://www.sistani.org/local.php?modules=main) the time for Salatul-Layl is from midnight to the Adhan time for Fajr prayers. However, it is better to pray near the time of Fajr prayers. Anyone who finds it difficult to pray Salatul-Layl after midnight can pray before midnight.***

Re: Question - Is this method of praying Tahajjud right?

Sorry for the font things but i am to tired to remove those right now - you can just go to the site i have up there and read the thing.

Re: Question - Is this method of praying Tahajjud right?

if u r NOT a shia, u shouldn't go to their site for fiqahii or any other masaa'il.

**remember one thing, tahajjud is a nafl salaaH and one does it after he does all the farz salaaths.

there is eight rak'at usuallly...4 sets of 2 raka'at each. u can recite any surahs. long or short, doesn't matter but traditionally one wud want to recite ayat ul kursi, sura yaseen, 4 quls, plus whateva u like.**
