“Is a person who is banned, banned from whole of GS, or does each sub-forum like say Khel Khilari have its own banning list? Do we get to see our infraction pt running count? And what is the total at which banning is triggered?”
Reposted my post #63. Noticed couple of Channel Managers and couple of Mods have subsequently posted on this thread. Not sure why no response, In the remote chance none of the officials saw the earlier post, here it is. Thanks in advance.
While we are at it, why was I banned without any warning or infraction? I reckon I had some 10 or 15 infraction points for writing "Paki", which in my opinion is absolutely ridiculous. Apart from that, Muzna thought my grave sin was writing "F'ing", considering it profanity which seems to be her pet word these days. But then the system says I was banned for insulting other members.
My question is, is there any legit reason for my ban other than personal frustrations or perhaps, I don't know, PMS?
Southie, you don't have any infractions. When you get infraction you will know b/c only you can see your infractions points. And, if you haven't gotten any points at 3,254 posts you're ok.
Altair, I'm not sure why you were banned, but bans usually fall under 3 categories:
1) Accumulation of infractions points. Once you get 50pts the system automatically bans you for 30 days (unless you have non-expiring points).
2) Customs pts-if you really pi$$ed off some mod/CM/admin they might ban you for 30 with 50 pts (usually reserved for really bad behaviors).
3) Permanent ban. Only CMs/Amins can do that. Usually trolls and spammers get banned under this category.

there are both sorts of bans....... you might get banned from specific sub-forum, a whole channel, or whole forum....... all those things are possible.....

Bhoy O bhoy - would you mind elaborating this pissing off point ...
Since when it has become so personal that pissing off some mod / CM / Admin could lead you to a ban ?
I reckon - you lot should keep it professioal rather then making it personal ... At least that's what you have made it look by making that statement :)
Feedback replying should be left to wise people like Niksik or Barbique - people who at-least know how to use their words wisely :)
^^^ Obviously you missed the point about "usually reserved for really bad behaviors". As for the usage of the words, mods are allowed to have light sense of humor.
And "really bad behaviours" are determined by what? Emotional condition of the decision maker at the time of decision?
This is seriously retarded, someone high up the heirarchy makes a daft emotional decision and then the girl scouts come marching in trying to justify that decision 'in the light of the policies' with those condescending smilies, hoping to score a few brownie points. Not talking about you Shamraz, you are alright my man.
And yeah, I know you don't have to justify anything to anyone. I was just wondering whether there is a legit reason behind the ban.

Ever wonder why aint it is accounted as light sense of humor , if it is coming from a general user :)
