NEVER TRUST SOMETHING THAT BLEEDS FOR 5 DAYS AND DOESN'T DIE!

ew :yukh:

I guess it is PMS...Pre Menstrual Syndrome....

Alterations in sex hormone levels at around the time of ovulation have been thought to cause PMS. The changes in sex hormone levels affect certain brain chemicals which, in turn, bring about the mood changes of PMS. Serotonin and tryptophan, which function as neurotransmitters in the brain, have been shown to create PMS-like symptoms experimentally. These two chemicals have profound effects on mood and emotion.

Simply put during your period your body ****s with you mind and makes you crazy (well crazier).

Eat Chocolate. Supposedly it enhances the mood and reduces the btich-i-ness caused by PMS.

yeh chocolate or beating my younger brother on playstation usually works...boys crying works wonders for PMS

About that chocolate. Here is a link to the following exerpt…

About PMS

Sometimes, simple lifestyle adjustments can bring tremendous relief from menstrual cramps and PMS symptoms. For instance, we know how badly you are craving that chocolate, but consider this fair warning: chocolate is very high in fat, sugar and caffeine, three things that contribute to sluggishness and nervousness, increasing your discomfort. If you crave sweets, try eating fresh fruits instead of chocolate or junkfood. Also, avoid sodium and alcohol, which contribute to water retention.

While you are avoiding the “bad stuff” (and the urge to punch out whichever unfortunate loved one happens to be in close proximity,) incorporating some of this “good stuff” into your diet will help your body to naturally fight the pain and discomfort of PMS and menstrual cramps:

Start with a healthy, balanced diet which includes lots of raw, fresh vegetables and fruits, supplemented by a complete and balanced, high quality, anti-oxidant, multi-vitamin/mineral combination. Also, the herb dong quai eases bloating, pain and anxiety. Amino acids, like those found in nuts, beans, yogurt, eggs, fish and poultry are essential to the body for normal functioning.

Vitamin A is necessary for normal reproductive system functioning.

Vitamin B complex helps reduce water retention, soothes the nerves, and alleviates a myriad of other symptoms.

Vitamin C promotes healthy function of the immune system and fights infections.

Vitamin D helps the body absorb minerals, especially calcium, which eases back pain and cramps.

Vitamin E is necessary for the overall good health of the reproductive system (as well as the entire body) and fights “free-radical damage.”

Vitamin K is known as the “anti-hemorrhagic” vitamin, as it is essential for proper blood clotting.

Also, massaging the feet and the backs of calves can help to alleviate pain. This is based on the theory of reflexology, the centuries-old practice of locating and releasing energy blockages that occur in the nerve pathways throughout the body. The slight indentation above both sides of the heels can be massaged, using a firm but gentle (as this area is likely to be sore during this time of the month) rolling, probing motion. Continue up along the sides of the Achilles tendon and finish with the entire calf muscle. This not only can relieve your problematic symptoms, but can work wonders to improve your state of mind. (It’s really great if you can get someone to do this for you!)
In addition to the above techniques, many women report that a heating pad placed over the abdominal area works wonders - it will warm the muscles, loosening them up and easing cramps. A hot bath with mineral salts can do the trick, too.

A final word about PMS and menstrual cramps: Some of us may have a tendency to be emotionally sensitive at these times. It is very important to take good care of yourself while you are trying to ease your pain and discomfort. You don’t need to justify your actions to others, who may not really understand how miserable you are feeling. Take some time for yourself to get some fresh air and sunshine, rest when you need to, drink lots of pure water, and indulge in the activites that bring you the most relief and comfort. And if anyone tells you to quit whining, just let out a low, guttural growl, do a leaping-scissors-kick to their head and knock em’ on their butt. They’ll get the message!
