Question for North American Guppies?

Re: Question for North American Guppies?

Well, its sort of like a right of passage... Its a big step into finally starting what will one day be your adult career...
Its also usually the time when you leave your parent to head of to college, so in that sense, its a passage into adulthood.

Re: Question for North American Guppies?

Well because for some people those are the hardest years of their lives. Having survived 4 years in high school is a big deal for some..i mean lots of people drop out. Leaving their friends..parents..going to college/uni..i mean come on. Let them have their fun...it isn't harming you now is it?

Re: Question for North American Guppies?

The only people who really make a big deal of it are your parents and family. :)

Re: Question for North American Guppies?

Obviously its not harming anyone, but what happened to a hand shake and warm applause?

Re: Question for North American Guppies?

that's old school...like come on..there has to be a party..a celebration..a warm applause and a handshake is not enough for some people

Re: Question for North American Guppies?

Your question made me wonder so I asked my colleagues (goras) to share their thoughts…
Here is my email to them and their answers :D:

All:
OK…non work related question…
Why is HS graduation such a big thing in America? I mean there is not much you can do after that other then pursuing a ****REAL**** degree…right? So why the big deal associated with it?
I mean for crying it loud, the whole graduation thing is so out of control these days, …the system makes teenagers feel like they are sooooo important…..

your thoughts..

Answers I got:

Mr. RW:
Basically it’s just another ‘Hallmark’ holiday to buy Graduation cards.
But in reality it’s a ‘Fundraiser’ for friends and family to give $ for the College fund!

Mr. EN (senior guy past 50):
It has basically been the day you kick them out of the house! Both the parents know that this is the day they will be rid of them and the kids who want to leave know that this is the day they can be FREE! Most companies would fail if high schoolers would not go look for work. They rely on HS grads to work in entry level jobs.

Mr. WS (The boss):
That reminds me of an article my bothers and I were complaining about this weekend……….you don’t have to read the whole thing to get the idea.

It’s pretty sad. Kid’s these days…………

Then he copy pastes this article....](http://online.wsj.com/article/SB117702894815776259.html?mod=todays_us_weekend_journal)

Mr. GG(the joker):
I think we should start a college fund for (my name here)'s kids!!!

Just Thought of sharing!
