In the situation that your husband is in charge of all the bills and you’re not working–how does he react when you get a particularly high bill? or let’s say you go shopping whether for home things or personal items, how does he react?
he says .. oh ho bas itni si shopping.. 
ok but seriously my husband doesn’t care but also because I don’t go overboard.. He knows.

He usually doesn’t say anything because he’s the one spending on iPods and BluRays. Me, however, buy only basic stuff 
me and my hubby both work but sometimes if we go over our budget he lets me know about our expenses and we should control next month. I don't usually mind that because we want to make sure that we keep ourselves from getting in financial trouble.
I do however know some aunties here that drive BMW's and shop around all day and their hubbies are stuck at work (usually come at night to sleep) all because of their rich taste in fashion and clothing and social parties. They must be okay with that i guess.

Can't speak for myself but my dad never questions my mum's spending- groceries or otherwise.
If a situation was to arise, it would be good to budget properly and tailor expenses as to your lifestyle and not excessive.
