One questions for bollywood fans here. When you watch indian classical or tradition related movies like parineeta etc etc , do you really/completely understand the movie? i mean they speak hard hindi and show culture not common in pakistan and some times it is hard even for us to understand that.
Sometimes when i watch bollywood movies i am like man if pakistanis watch this movie then how they gonna understand this part?? you know what i am saying.
kaka bhai i do because i am half indian …yaar bachpan se poorani nayi saari itni indian movies dekhi hain, and have so many indian friends, even some family in india isliye apun ko koi problem nahin hai hindi samajhne me…
maybe i wouldn’t understand the exact meaning of a hindi word (if presented by itself) but if used in a sentence its easier to uderstand…same in case of movies…
well i watch star wars its aobut a land far far away in a galaxy long long ago...;) and sitll read the sub-titles and enjoy it...same here. It's fun to see other cultures depicted in films western or desi...
I m Indian and yes its quite dificult to understand different cultures, I m Punjabi and I have no clue what goes on in Berngali culture, No clue whatsoever, dont understand their rituals, so beta its not ur problem only, the problem is universal but then its the director's choice what he points to show with his movies and for whom
As for movies I do understand the most. Hindi words are used too often in some movies, but if you follow the whole dialogue, it is most of the times very easy to guess the meaning. Some Indian movies are really exotic too. :)
Kaka bhai, one thing has confused me yaar. During last India-Pak cricket series, some of my friends went to India to follow the series and all of them told that it is not very common to find mod girls in India and people still live in well-established families and follow and respect the social system. Now it is not as projected in most movies which usually indicate that most girls and boys will go for love and their lives after they enter some age group. So I guess you will have better idea about it. Do movies really reflect Indian living style? I mean followed by majority of people living in India.
