Did your new born get diagnosed with jaundice?
If so, do you know what caused it?
At what age was your baby diagnosed? (immediately after birth, 24 hours later, a week later etc)
What treatment plan did you follow for your baby and how long did the treatment last?
And did you do anything to prevent jaundice in your next child, if it was a preventable cause?
My younger son got diagnosed with jaundice within one week of his birth. I do not know what caused it. We took him to the hospital and they used light therapy to cure it.
I do not remember how long the treatment lasted it must have been few days though.
We did not even know that we needed to do anything to prevent it for the next baby we had. Our daughter was born after five years of his birth. So even if they told us we must have forgotten by then.
few days after birth....we don't know the reason...
i was told to take him out in the sun for 10-20 minutes everday....and because i was breastfeeding they didn't bother much with giving any meds....they said breastmilk is a great healer.
Hareem: Yes that's what I've heard the doc tell the new mothers too, to keep breastfeeding and that will just dilute the bilirubin (what causes the jaundice)
^..deficiency of vitamin d ...if i remeber it correctly...
....its nothing to be worried about ..your baby just need light /sunlight... and he/she will be fine in couple of days.....
My son was diagnosed a few days after birth....I think it was two. He was born in the winter so there wasn't a lot of sun....Like hareem said my midwife told me to bf every two hours....it went away after about 3 days.
