Some desi parents panic that their kids might change their minds, back out and shock horror people will talk.. strangely the most important thing with them seems to be getting them to tie the knot asap regardless of issues of compatibility, attraction etc. They just want them married off to people they like at any cost hence those weird situations u sometimes get where the couple aren’t allowed to see each other beforehand or if they do they aren’t allowed to talk.. it even happens amongst some desi families in the UK… the whole thing is so messed up..
