Re: Question about Urdu Songs wordings, same sex ones?
It is not only songs but for all Urdu and Arabic poetry you will find, Shair apni mehboba ky liy Muzakar ka sigha istymal krty hain Muanas ka nahi.Wajah if you read “Tareekhy Adaby Arabi” you will find I hope ky Dory Jahiliyat (Hazarat Muhammed :saw: ki amad o Nabuwat sy pehly ka zmana) main shair na sirf Orat ka hi sigha istymal krty bl ky Nam bhi likh dalty thy, Hazrat Umar:razi: ky dory khilafat main Hazra Umar Ny hukam jari frmaya ky shair shairi krty hoy muanas ka nahi Muzakar ka sigha istymal karin kion ky is sy Orton ki badnami hoti hy. Kai shair orton ka mazaq or on ko badnam krny ka sabab bnty thy. So os door ky bad ftohat bhi hoi tu Urdu shairi main bhi yeh rwayat par gai.Jahan tak meri haqeer pur taqseer ki maloomat ka taluq hy yehi wajy hy. (pthanon ka koi amal dakhal nahi:D)
Re: Question about Urdu Songs wordings, same sex ones?
to my understanding the gender is not an issue when declaring feelings. Poetry is genderless zone. Its the artistic side of things. If you have taken literature then you would be aware of most poets disregarding the gender. Another reason could be that true feelings are above lust so it becomes unisex.Woh kya kehtay hain shairi dil ki awaz hai, u can't be precise, its not custom made.
How come the same concept would look weirder in English literature...that is if it were the use of Thou...and Thy!!!:)
