Question about sports psychology. Why is one team better than the other one?

The obvious answer is because they train more, but there has to be more to it what goes on behind it.

Take soccer for example. Why don’t Arab countries play as good as European countries? Why don’t China or Japan do well in it? I imagine people in Saudi and UAE start playing soccer really early, and probably have many opportunities to join organized teams where they can develop their soccer skills. What mindset are they lacking that European players aren’t?

I am just using soccer as an example, but same question can apply to any sport.

Training...everyone must have...but attitude is paramount...to simplify it:

Attitude = Humiliation + Discipline

PS: Period!

Steroids, Human Growth Hormone, Wheaties and Budweiser, breakfast of champions.

Most of the European soccer is very competitve. Great team knows how to handle pressure. Same with cricket, teams like South Africa, New Zeland and England have yet to win a world world cup. Problem with their system is that their players do not play much competative cricket. Moreover, some teams are blessed with talent.
