Asalamalaikum,
When Allah tests us with a burden and we continue to pray and have faith but also feel depressed and cry because of the hardship, is this considered “not having sabr”?
How do you stop the feeling of sadness? Sometimes the tears come when I make dua because I want so badly for Allah to answer my prayer…
Sometimes they just come randomly at other times.
How can one increase their sabr?

Walaikumussalam Warahamtullah Wabarakatuhu
May Allah grant you patience and remove all ur difficulties Ameen
Allah says in Quran
Allah does not charge a soul except [with that within] its capacity.
Surah Al baqarah
We here are for test, and it could be by any mean, so my personal view is just believe in taqdeer and strong faith on it, means if your prayers are not answered according to you, this is Allah's will and be happy with it, and keep praying with faith it will be answered one day inshaAllah,
Sabr will be increased inshaAllah just have the company of pious people, and have strong faith on taqdeer.
I want to add onething, in.hardship if you get worried or cry, its natural, because Allah has made us weak, but dont be depressed with your condition, in whatever you are, its written by Allah, ask Him indeed He love us the most subhan wa ta'alla, depression is kind of hopelessness and it weakens the emaan. So just have faith every night has a day:) trust me a day will come soon inshaAllah
