Re: Question about Prophets and Their books:

Surah Ala, last Ayah

إِنَّ هَـذَا لَفِى الصُّحُفِ الاٍّولَى - صُحُفِ إِبْرَهِيمَ وَمُوسَى

(Verily, this is in the former Scriptures -- the Scriptures of Ibrahim and Musa.) This Ayah is similar to Allah's statement in Surat An-Najm,

(Or is he not informed with what is in the Scriptures of Musa. And of Ibrahim who fulfilled (or conveyed) all that (Allah ordered him to do or convey): that no burdened person (with sins) shall bear the burden (sins) of another. And that man can have nothing but what he does. And that his deeds will be seen. Then he will be recompensed with a full and the best recompense. And that to your Lord is the End (Return of everything).) (53:36-42) And so forth, until the end of these Ayat. Abu `Aliyah said, "The story of this Surah is in the earlier Scriptures.'' Ibn Jarir preferred the view that the meaning of Allah's statement,

Sorry SlaveofAllah.. Now iam a bit confused now.. So Allah swt nay actually nazil farmai hain books for each prophet or no?

I can't seem to fit the ayat with my question...

Re: Question about Prophets and Their books:

no, it was not the anbiyaa but rather the rasool who gets a book, or a shariat to be more technical....

124,000 nabi have come outof which only 350 were rasool....
and some of those rasool too did not get a full-fledged book but u can say they got something like an "addition"....
the four books that r mentioned in the Quran by name are Torah, Zaboor, Injeel and Quran itself....

Re: Question about Prophets and Their books:

No, not every prophet got a book. Case in point is Hazrat Harun (as) who was the brother of Hazrat Musa (as). Hazrat Musa (as) got Torah, while Hazrat Harun was like a helper in delivering the message. There were also many prophets in bani Israel who followed the sharia of hazrat Musa (as)

armughal: i'm just curious where you got the number of rasools from?

Re: Question about Prophets and Their books:

So only Rasools pbuthem.. got books....
Thanks for clarification guys..

Re: Question about Prophets and Their books:

Well there are only four Books which you already know. and other Rasools may have some SAHIFAs which they receive in the shape of Ilham (not Wahie).
thanks
