some ppl say that we cant do them as a jamat and some ppl say we can..
there is no harm in jama't but since it is not evident from sunnah, it is not encouraged but doing does not make it wrong either.. wallah-o-alam!
i myself was thinking about it from a couple of days....
i dont think we have any hadith or anything from the fiqh of the imams to prove such an act....
will ask a knowledgable person (maybe more than one to be sure) and see what response i get....

we don't have any hadith, which tells us the Prophet used a PC, still we all use one (e.g. to gain religious knowledge).......
.......extrapolating this to nafal namaaz with jamaa't, i don't see anything wrong in it.

what does offering prayer in certain way has to do with "mubaahs" ?
^i don't see anything unclear in the analogy. Why wud an act of prayer be handled differently than something else?
