Question about Istikhara - quiet importand and urgent reply needed please

From what I’ve read if you get a feeling about the matter it means Istikhara has served it’s purpose, you don’t necessarily have to see it in a dream.

Yes i do get a feeling and its very strong but after that things don’t normally go the way the feeling was so that’s what bothers me…
