Dear Friends,
I again want ur help and honest suggesstions regarding firni.
I would like to ask that if i am cooking firni then whether or not should i soak rice in water. As far as I remember in firni i need to grind rice before using them so they do not need to be soaked. kindly let me know if i am right?
moreover i would also like to know how much kewra water should i use if i have 1 litre of milk?
Re: query regarding kheer/firni
The best way is to soak them for an hour and then drain out the water. Blend it with your milk. (125 grams of rice for 1 litre of Milk). 1 teaspoon of kewra water is enough.
Re: query regarding kheer/firni

Re: query regarding kheer/firni
thank u so much it was a gr8 help now i will try it and then let u know
can u plz answer two more questions
how much sugar should i use for 1 litre milk and i would appreciate if u ans me that in terms of cups or tablespoons coz i dun know how to measure grams
should i cook it on low flame or high? how would i know that it is done now?
Re: query regarding kheer/firni
8 tablespoons sugar but you can increase or decrease the quantity by tasting the mix. One mug of tea is 250 grams so half of it be 125 grams of rice. Cook it on medium flames. And keep on stirring the mix otherwise rice will settle down. So keep on stirring until it behaves like a lava that's the time you pour it in bowls and garnish.
