ok lets see.

X commi said, the reason why you should believe in god and not the big bang theory is because science doesnt explain at this point where all the mass/energy came from before the big bang.

now trick is, belief in god still brings you back to the same point - where did god come from?

given a choice between not-so-palpable ideas like god and supernatural power, and logical scientific theory with experimantally observable results which reinforce it, i'd take the latter.

your thread.

I once asked the same question!
The answer came to me was

GOD CREATED HIM SELF!

That explains everything!

The big bang theroy is also in the Quran. You should take a look. I dont have the link but i’m sure Watcher or someone will post it here

“There is no god but GOD
And there is only 1 GOD”

Once a scholar was explaining this to the Arab people.

In the crowd one man stood up and asked, “What was before 1 GOD?”

The scholar answered “Nothing!”

The man asked, “How is that?”

The scholar asked him to count till ten.

The man got confused and asked “Why?”

The scholar replied, “Just do as your told”

Then man counted, "One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, and so on till ten!

The scholar asked him again to count, and the man said 1 2 3 and so on

The scholar said," You see? There is nothing before one! Just like you counted!"

The man thought for a while and replied, “Ask me again to count!”

The scholar, “Go ahead and count.”

The man shouted, “ZERO! ONE! TWO! THREE! FOUR! FIVE!! SIX! SEVEN! EIGHT! NINE! TEN!”

The scholar asked the man, “What does zero stands for and what’s its value?”

The man went in to deep thought and answered, “It stands for zero! Nothing! No value.”

Scholar replied, " Exactly my point! There was nothing/zero before 1 GOD and there is only 1 GOD, and everything came after!"

nice story youngbrat.

X comm…the big bang theory is true, and yes, its supported and mentioned in the Quran, not once, but several times. Allah SWT made the earth and the skies in 6 days, and didnt break a sweat.

Queer, true, its a matter of choice based on what appeals to you more. However, at this point in time, its a matter of belief. The big bang theory as per scientists’
‘calculations’, was perfected merely a few decades ago. Whereas, the same theory was revealed in the Quran over 1400 years ago. So the reasoning comes down to not what seems logical, but rather to what you believe in.

You can build a car in your own garage from scratch, but can you say you invented it? No, the car was invented 75 years ago by Henry Ford. You can choose to believe you invented it, because thats what freedom of speech is about, but does that make it true?

Question raised in this thread: Does Islam ascribe to the Big Bang, the Steady State or the Chaos theory in the creation of the universe.
My answer with Quranic references is:
Even if all three or others not as yet articulated scientific theories may seem to have some merit, THEY ARE NOT THE RECIPE which will give man the understanding of creation. To understand the creation of the universe means to be able to reproduce the actuality. It is quite impossible for man to reproduce the universe as man is inside time and space, not outside of it. Unknown and unrealised laws and principles can be used in proving a theory but any one theory which can be proven is only the reproduction of a snapshot or some multiple frame events in the universe without the awareness of ALL the factors involved. Science and knowledge is a compulsion for man and will give much useful information about matters in the universe. The universe however is dynamic and since it was even before part of it became visible, everything is relative except for Allah, The Sustainer, who is Absolute.
---- Ref. Al-Quran Surah-aya .
ref. 2-117. " The Originator of the heavens and the earth! When He decreeth a thing, He saith unto it only: Be! and it becomes. "
For those who pursue the understanding of Allah's creation, a clearer picture :.
ref. 52-7. Verily the Doom of thy Lord will indeed come to pass
ref. 52-8. There is none can avert it
ref. 52-9. On the day when the firmament will be in dreadful commotion.
ref. 52-10. And the mountain will fly hither and thither.
ref. 21-104. The Day that we roll up the heavens like a scroll rolled up for books ( completed ) even as We produced the first Creation so shall We produce a new one: a promise We have undertaken: truly shall We fulfil it.
ref. 56-60. We have decreed Death to be your common lot and We are not to be frustrated
ref. 56-61. From changing your Forms and creating you ( again ) in ( Forms ) that ye know not.
ref. 56-62. And ye certainly know already the first form of creation: why then do ye not celebrate His praises?
ref. 2-255. Allah! there is no Allah but He the living the Self-subsisting Eternal. No slumber can seize him nor sleep. His are all things in the heavens and on earth. Who is there can intercede in His presence except as He permitteth? He knoweth what ( appeareth to his creatures as ) before or after or behind them. Nor shall they compass aught of his knowledge except as He willeth. His throne doth extend over the heavens and the earth and He feeleth no fatigue in guarding and preserving them. For He is the Most High the Supreme.
ref. 18-51. I made them not to witness the creation of the heavens and the earth, nor their own creation; nor choose I misleaders for helpers.

Now ref. 21-104. is the one that is much closer answer and point of pondering....

Think! and think rationally....

You (Muslims) are the best nation ever raised among the mankind: (because) you
advocate righteousness and FORBID EVIL, and you believe in (one) GOD (ALLAH).

Shaheen=An Eagle or A Flacon!
How come people come up with the idea that Shaheen is a "gal"????

queer…one of the things that amazes me is that in the Quran, it is repeatedly asked for humans to create even ONE line like it…

just a side note, check up on that thread posted by sohphia mujahid…nice stuff…maybe nothing proving to you…but just a side dish.

If we only think in 4 dimensions (4th being time), then how can we expect to comprehend what we cannot understand? Maybe time is not linear or that we are really insignificant when compared to the universe. Maybe we've already lived our lives and we are seeing it unfold like a story. Or maybe there is life on other plantes.. these things Allah knows best.. if he doesn't want us to know then we will never find out.

At the end of the day, Allah created us, big bang or not. Allah said 'be' and it happened.

In the Holy Qur’ân, chapter 21, verse 30 says. “Do the disbelievers not see that the heavens and the earth were joined together, then I split them apart”. Here we can see that the Holy Qur’ân is speaking about this ‘BIG BANG’ theory and let me tell you that the Holy Qur’ân was revealed over 1400 years ago.

Big Bang theory is confirmed by Quran:

"Have not the disbelievers seen that the Heavens and the Earth were one piece and we parted them? Will they not then believe?"(21:30)

Now what is your argument?

cool dude.. a man after my own fashion.. exactly what i was going to point out.

in a limited intelligence we are just coming to understand the basics of physics.

I was reading a book and a question was raised as to the nature of the subatomic particles... what are they composed of..how were they created.. the current theories is that these particles are
1. wave functions (i.e. energy)
2. abnormalies in space time (i.e. like mini black holes) leading to other dimensions.
