I’m not sure what kind of help you want, but a website that can help you with alot of services is craigslist | quebec . Craigslist is an extremely popular classifieds website. The link i pasted is for quebec only. You can find anything here from apartment rentals to jobs to cars. You can even sell your stuff there and make a buck. The one that i use is toronto.craigslist.org. Spend 5 minutes on this website and you’ll fall in love with it.

i am familiar with craigslist, but it hadn't occurred to me to browse the quebec/montreal section of that website. it's a good resource for some of the info i'm searching for... but the questions are of an immigration/settlement point of view, so i figured that talking to someone who's been through that process would be really helpful.

quebecors(read french) are racist ppl with a huge superiority complex. Not sure about montreal area as there is a strong presense of english canadians.

I lived in Montreal, a LIVE city with a never sleeping Down Town ( Rue St-Catherine), but for Pakistanis who are coming on immigration (not on political asylam) this is not the place to live. Its completely a French colony, no inglish, and there are not much chances of getting any professional jobs (as French is normally a must)
Indeed Its an heaven for asylam cases and nikammay souls ... and a place to enjoy the real life...

Umm… liking is a small word,
I was taking some courses from Concordia university for my masters, we were around 30-40 students from Karachi and other Pakistan. Mostly our work was to study in night and sleep in the day.
For joy and fun lovers, this is THE place to live and enjoy at any time, this city is alive 24-7-364.25 … but not for some professional people

Yeah its very very cold out there, but Frenchies don’t care while selecting the dresses to wear on week ends, well… what we can say, its their choice to stay out in the lines (ahem) 20-30 (minus) clesius … while desis are still shivering wearing 6 shirts, jackets and so on…
