An excellent drama on ARY. After a long time, I am following some Pakistani drama. In this age of glossy overhyped craps like Humsafar, this one has some substance. Ironic that no one on this forum mentioned it when even the stupidest dramas get long threads. Speaks volumes about the “taste.”
My favorite is Shakooran, the matriarch. Her chaste Urdu full of proverbs is mindblowing. Reminds me of older women in my family who used to speak the perfect blend of Delhi-UP Urdu.
Every character is good except for Shehnaz that chubby homeopathic practitioner. She needs a lot to learn about acting and dialogue delivery.
Another minor issue is the poor makeup. Hina is carrying off each character well but it looks awkward to see her essaying these roles without much difference in looks/facial features. Doing so would have made each character played by her with a distinctive look. The director has not worked hard on this aspect. Otherwise, the drama is great.
It was also the first time in Pakistan drama history when ISI was mentioned and that too without much respect.
[QUOTE] its all about two families living upstairs & downstairs in an old house, one being the landlord & other being a tenant. the tenant’s being the main track consists of; qudoos sahab ki bewa (amma), her 3 daughters; khajusta, badarqa & shagufta and only son; wudood. amma, trying hard to get rid of the incompetent lot of her kids, who do not earn much rather are expensive, such as; khajusta & wodood by means of marrying them asap. but on the other hand daughter badarqa who is the main bread earner of the house is inclined to marry asap and that has to be stopped by amma at any cost. however, amma does not know that badarqa has already wed and is finding ways & means to disclose this to her kin’s. aqeela, a wedding consultant is pursued by amma to arrange marriages for her son & daughters but she plays around them to increase her commissions. this track consists of; aleemuddin & wife nanni, with their siblings; maqsood & his wife; roohafza. as maqsood is a dwarf so, roohafza is inclined towards other males atleast taller than her. and here comes shabbir jan, a flirtatious person who evokes romance in all the females. comical dialogues and characters lamented with classical & traditional households, however a gross sublime of the serial lies in its reality of unmarried over aged females in our society, a burden on ageing parents. cast hina dilpazer, shabbir jan, badar khalil, uroosa siddiqui, mirza shahi, shehnaz pervaiz, maqsood bhai, waqar, ubaida ansari and others.

Kaafi behdooda goyi hai iss drama me.... but Hina Dilpazeer is doing very well. Wish if they could wokr on its storyline instead of just badtameezi and cheap jokes.
Hahah i am following this one, the characters are hilarious, especially Wadood Ahmed and Rooh Afza. Yes, it is not a “family drama” - you would not watch it with kids but why would you have kids watching dramas, anyway? I like it, it is basically a sitcom and the acting is perfect by every actor. The guy who plays Wadood Ahmed, I love his acting! He has to be gay in real life too.
