I’m a bit concerned, actually it bothers me a great deal as to the amount of nonsensical threads in Cafe. I know Cafe was initially created for people to introduce themselves to each other and have light-hearted chit-chat about non-serious topics. However, the quality of these threads over the years have drastically come down, and the number of threads has astronomically increased. It has become like msn messenger, but with all guppies connected.
I remember when I first joined, I always used to think carefully before opening a new thread, but now noone seems to care about what they’re writing and open a thread with regards to anything. I know I’m guilty too, but it surprises me sometimes that you guys are actually allowing this to happen.
Moderators, I think you need to rethink Cafe. Don’t lower your standards just because gupshup has become extremely popular.
I also find that because of the number of threads, people who dont check gupshup on a daily basis, may miss about 30 threads, and some of them may have been valid and of interest.
How about putting a restriction on each guppie as to how many threads they’re allowed to open in Cafe in a week or a day? Or how about just restricting the number of threads allowed in Cafe for a week? That way, we’ll all think twice before clicking on ‘New Topic’. You really need to step up on ‘quality control’. I think many guppies also stay away from cafe for this reason.
