Quaid Vs. the Bhutto family

when Benazir first came into power, she had put her father’s picture instead of the Quaid’s while adressing the nation once. only upon the objections of the people did she never do that thing again.
now when she is dead, she is over shadowing the Quaid. the TV has devoted a whole week to her memory. when was the last time the TV devoted that much time to the founding father? worse, even on the 25th of December we did not see much of activity on TV regarding the Quaid.
and now they have come up with a coin after her. hopefully our ten thousand rupees note will bear the picture of Benazir or Zulfiqar.

Why does it bother you so much? I am sure you have pictures of your father instead of Jinnah.

Get over it

Re: Quaid Vs. the Bhutto family

recent news always overshadows old news. plus BB's family is in power now, so even if some conspiracy theories are true (I donno), it still makes business sense for 10% to continue keeping her name in the press and for the lotas to suck up to the power mafia using BB's name.

Now the whole public gets a chance to be lotas too. Buy a lot of her coin - may be even pay double to get it!

I think BB is much greater leader than Mohammad Ali Jinnah. Plus remember that he was Islmaili. An Ismaili are not muslim.

Woho...Seriously!!!

Firstly he was a muslim, secondaly what does religion have to do with this?. The fact is he got us our home, Pakistan. And we should be thankful and indebt to him for that not complaining about his cast/sect.

And lets not even compare Quaid-e-Azam with BB...i think it would be disrespecting him.

That is a very absurd comment. Who cares what sect he belonged to, what he did for Muslims was unprecedented to date. Next time avoid such judgmental comments.

I didn't know that! everything I read said Jinna is a muslim but wasn't a real follower of the religion. He did enjoy substances that are banned by Islam but then he didn't profess to be the model of a religious muslim anyway.

Re: Quaid Vs. the Bhutto family

As a side note, Jinnah was a mainstream Shia, and not Ismaili. Bhuttos hail from a sufi background, and not genuinely a Sunni one.

Jinnah was certainly a non practicing one, but none of this should matter in their politics and debates.

When it comes to Pakistan. Jinnah has no religion and consequently, he has no competitor. Nor this is a competition. Pakistan will always be of Jinnahs, and those of us who love it will try strive to make it work like Jinnah wanted it to be.

So true, how can someone work for a country for just one rupees? If you are greater leader you should work for hundreds of thousands rupees and take millions in kickbacks if you are true leader... per definition of PPP?

Jinnah of Pakistan by Stanley Woolpart has mention that he was Ismaili and married twice in his life. Plus he was award a title of Vizier by Sir Sultan Mohammad shah Aga Khan first President of Muslim Aga Khan. You can still confirm this title at Jamat Khana in Kharadar.

what does it matter. why should one's religion qualify him as a good or bad leader. if religion made good leaders, then Saudi Arabia should have been having the greatest leaders. instead we see incompetence and corruption written all over that kingdom.
what is your criteria of a good leader anyway?

I do have pictures of my father. that does not mean that if i ever had a chance i would put them on the currency notes. Bush is the president and his father was one too. that does not mean they put their pictures on teh currency notes, even though the pictures of the presidents adorn the dollar bills.

Re: Quaid Vs. the Bhutto family

Janaan, I have never seen anyone but the Quaid's picture during national 'khitaab's. Are you absolutely sure about that?

it was a long time ago, back when she was the first time prime minister.

I dont get how it is possible to compare Quid-e-azam ,the founder of pakistan .. come on everyone:smack: has their own place.

Agar Pakistan na banta tu bibi ko power kahan se milti:aq: In ke bap dada ki trha ye or on ki olad bhi angryz sarkar ya Hnidu banion ky talwy chat rahi hotin:fifa:

Agreed three is no comparison :k: Magar bat ye hy ky her aik ka dil chahy ga mery bap ki tasweer hu Qaid ki jaga tu kiya her aik ko ijazat ho gi ya bas dakion ko:aq:

The observation and your question has some weight. Good question. Don't know about the picture issue.

However, the title gives wrong impression that somehow there is ANY comparison to Benazir Bhutto-Zardari and Great MA Jinnah.

Congratulations. You won the most absurd post of the month.!!!:)

I know you' re blinded by your love for the Bhuttos but I was n't expecting such a shocking statement from you. I think you are insulting your own intelligence by comparing such a great man like Jinnah with Bhutto. Comparing Jinnah and Bhutto is like comparing chalk and cheese

Jinnah was a man of principles. He had great integrity. Aside from being highly educated and intelligent he was honest, sincere, trustworthy, selfless and diligent, attributes that we do not associate with today's looters aka politicians incl. Bhuttos.

And yes Jinnah was a muslim. Whether or not he was religious is nobody's business and should not even be an issue. It is common knowledge that Jinnah's relationship with his only daughter became strained after she refused to leave the parsi faith on his advice.

We Pakistanis shall always remain indebted to Jinnah for what he did for us. His *ehsanat *are beyond words

Long live Pakistan and long live Jinnah's name in our hearts - Ameen
