Qtv

I don’t like QTV. They are always showing NAATS.
And QTV showed a biography of a SUFI saint.
And people were touching his grave.
Grave/small shrine covered with green "Chadars
and the room was lit with green tube lights.

And not to mention 24/ 7 Qawalis. The qawals are Panwaris(PAN)
and have their ears pierced.

sirf is channel ke Kumii thee.

take care

unfortunately that is a part of our culture. I cannot stand people who go to these pir murid's grave and start asking him for help and what not.

I think QTV is taking a balanced approach. It is true that some of what they show is wrong, however there is a lot of good also. For example, Dr. Israr's lectures. If they just show one side, they would be labelled Wahabi. You may also be aware of the majority beliefs of Pakistanis. So it is better to approach them in a calculated and balanced way.

QTV is atleast better than THE MUSIK....spoiling the Pakistani youths and make them janoonis. Music is haraam but many deny it.

Kaleem, what is it ‘unfortunate’???

Rehman, did your TV come with a remote control and channels?

O Bolo Nabi Nabi. Itna Kaho Nabi Nabi.

Yeah, I saw the ad on ARY, one minute they say "Allahu Akbar" and the next they are playing a dholki, silly people.

Islam Channel (I think 836 Sky Digital) seems a bit better, room for amends and improvemnts from the little I've watched of it. Principles of Faith is good, I think..

Madhanee, the problem is it promotes ignorance.... i accept it as a part of culture, however, i feel its my moral duty to voice my concerns about it.

You are excatly right. In fact they are promoting shirk which is unforgivable by Allah. However, a lot of good has also come through ARY. May Allah guide them. I guess, as you said, it is all about the target market. They present what majority of pakistanis like unfortunately, ....peer faqeer, mazars and shirk.

I watched Qtv when i was in pakistan. So i don't know about much of their programing. I used to watch dr. israr's lectures.

Kinda late... but.... what is QTV?

Seems some sort of TV ... maybe the one promised by jama'at-e-islami? Though I doubt they will go 'rap'

QtV i sone of the so called islamic channels by ARY Digital Network.

It think it means Quran TV. Come in ASia.

So all those who are commenting in this thread and live in US, have presumably never even watched it?

A good Islamic channel is (if you understand Arabic)

AlMajd TV

www.almajdtv.com

It may also be watched live on the website.

Assalam Aleekum
Yes, I agree. Dr Israr lectures are worth listening too.

For Faisal:
QTV is Qawaali TV but the management of the "tation" calls
It Koran TV. I think.

I used to watch QTV and let me say I was put off by those 24/7 Qawalis and Naats with the music. I personally do not like naats with music. But now they have started many other programs , question/answer sessions ( i think DR, Zakir Naik's program is also aired on ARY's QTV) and I enjoy watching those.

I agree with KAleem for once here that whatever they show is part of our culture so lets be a bit acomodating towards others.

^
Zakir Naik is a fab guy, his IRF Network is doing a great job spreading the Deen in India and internationally. :k:

My khala watches QTV religously and always told me to watch it too but … being the lazy bum i am :frowning:

hmmm…btw, whats really shocking is that they have also started reciting naats on the tune of latest indian songs  thats just terrible :bummer:

and Minerva r u serious??? NAATS WITH MUSIC? that sucks :frowning:

whats the censor board doing? how do these things reach the air waves? this sucks :frowning:

Naats transformed to bhajans with islamic names.

sadly, some people see naats and qawalis as bigger than som-o-salaat....

and some people perform more som-o-salaat and they think that they are better creature than others and they will goto Junnah directly without having eeman in their hearts.
