Ok Ali here I found some facts about Aad.

(1) Aad were the oldest Arabs and at the time of revelation of Quran, even Arabs children were aware of their name. They were used in many idioms and many things were devoted to them . Like Archeology was known as 'Aadiyaat'. Non cultivatable land was called 'Aadi ul Arz'

(2) They were inhabitant of Ahqaaf, a place near western coast of Yemen. In 1837 English naval officer Mr James R Wellseted found a some stones carrying name of Hazrat Hud (AS) from the place locally known as Hiseen Ghuraab

hmmm

from my grandparents i use to hear in olden days people use to be so tall.it came down with time...
from my observation new born childeren have very low weigh ,by the time they reach 10th class they look kids from 5th class.
it started from my time even though i was normal for my age,people use to think iam tall and heavy for that age actually while other kids were abnormal for that age..
May be malnutrition i have seen both mother and father health and fatty but their new born childeren are quite weak with lot of dieases,i hardly go to hospital may be yearly once

There was this myth famous in sufi circles that Shams Tabrez (famous saint) use to fry fish by extending his arms towards sun :D

The first picture is not real ...

The boy's shadow is cast by a sun at 2 o'clock and about 10 deg towards the viewer to give the effect of the shadow in that angle and the skeleton's shadow is more of a 12:30 position for the sun and the sun is neither towards nor behind the level of the skeleton ...

I have always been skeptical of the long thin graves ... they do not present human symmetry - if people in those coffin's every lived just imagine how clumsy they would look - Allah (SWT) made human in the best form and the prophets in the form of the best humans ... Can you seriously believe that our prophet's were stretched, rather than wide as well as tall at the same time?

I'm too skeptical of this idea and I kinda remember reading that in old days graves were made in two parts. One for the original body and the other part used be empty.

Quran does mention age of the Prophet Noah ( he preached for 950 years), but no where it does mentions about the height measurement of any human being / Prophet.

The length which were told in hadith I think is 60 cubit.

Two questions?

(1) What is cubit? equal to how many feet?
(2) Was that an authentic Hadees?

We should not ignore the fact that even in some tafseer e Quran, there have been used myths popular in Bani Isreal. I remember, there was a myth about a man, who could move clouds with the help of his stick from earth. :bummer:

1- 1 cubit is equal to 1.5 feets (1 foot 6 inches)
2- Yes it is authentic hadith.
