All those who do not wish to stand up, probably never saw a movie in a Pakistani cinema.

Before the movie starts, and after all the wonderful trailers, they play the qaumi tarana and everyone in the hall stands up. I suspect many people stand up, just because thats the only act of patriotism they are ever asked to do in their entire lives.

On a side note, the visual qaumi tarana played in the cinema halls was probably picturized right after color cameras became available. I have been reliably informed that the school girls shown in there are now naanis and daadis themselves. The small boy in the pagri (Aitchison college wala) was last seen walking his third nawassa in the Model Town park.
