I went to a ‘khatm-e-quran’ yesterday - A lady read this qissah.
A young lady wants to eat liver, as some other lady is cooking while this young girl smokes three cigarettes waiting for the lady to offer her some. Her father can’t afford the liver so her he asks her not to eat anything for three days and he will work hard, this way they’ll be able to buy liver in thre days. After three days, her father sees the prophet in his dream while he’s taking a nap after work. The prophet gives him something and tells the old man to give something in Prophets name. When he wakes up, he has nothing with him expect the gift the prophet had given him. Some more detail. The gift later transforms into diamonds which he sells and becomes so rich that they’re richer than the king. The old man then goes to perform hajj and asks his daughter to do charity in the name of the prophet while he is away, which she doesn’t do as they’re too rich to be doing dua on mithai.
They end up being arrested by the king for having stolen a necklace etc. When the old man comes back, he too is arrested but he realizes that his family didn’t do charity in the name of the prophet, so he tries to stop a young man to buy him some sweets so he can pray on it and distribute. The young man refuses as he’s about to get married and he doesn’t want to be late for that. A few minutes later he dies and his father is told about death of the young man. Who comes to see him. The old man asks the young mans father to buy him some sweet a the man buys him that. And when the young mans father cries, the old man asks him what’s wrong, upon which he tells him about his son. So the old man gives him the sweet dissolved in water and asks him to give it to his son and he’ll be okay. The man does that and his son is okay again. A bird flies to the king with the stolen necklace, so the king calls in the old man and asks what happened. The old man explains that his family didn’t do charity in the name of the prophet. To which the king says, you’re my father and I’m you son. And gives them their freedom back.
??? I mean, at first I thought its about cancer as the young girl smokes three cigarettes in no time. But it was all about the bird, how confusing!! Btw. who writes these qisse kahaniyaaN?
What I do not like about some such kahaniyaN is that they often use misleading details and so on. Ive seen such cases where kids are told of examples from Quran/Sunnah that do not exist or are obviously false.
FF, exactly. It doesn't make any sense whatsoever. But all aunties etc were going subhan allah etc at every full stop. Just goes to show how blindly we follow any sentence that has Allah or prophet's name in it. This story was in urdu so everyone understood it, yet no one reacted.
