The lbw call looked sincere to me. The umpire probably thought it will miss the stumps. It was turned down coz it was not pitched inline. Regardless, that call would have stood. I mean, if umpire gave lbw, and India appealed, the call would have been reversed.
The no ball on the other hand, I don't know what that was. Maybe the wasp bite distracted Dar or induced hallucinations or maybe he looked at the way Rohit reacted ( as if the ball was gonna hit his family jewels ) and called it a no ball.
Regardless, don't think the result of the game would have changed. Might have been a closer game.
If ghe ump thought it would miss stumps he should not be ump. It was middle and off. And hr was not even close.
it happened to pitch 0.5 mm outside leg. How does ump know that and also think it was missing stump.
anyway this lbw rule is stupid. What does it matter where ball pitcjes.
Also drs for close call don't charge team if it loses challenge.
And if ump is wrong - in general not this specific case - don't say ump call stands if close. Then why have drs.
and if u say close don't charge losing challenge team

Bangladeshi Premier Sheikh Hasina says that her country’s cricket team was “made to lose” in the World Cup quarter-final against India.
Her comments added to an ongoing controversy over umpiring decisions in the World Cup quarter-final match between Bangladesh and India which the former lost by 109 runs.
Among the contentious decisions during that match was a dismissal of batsman Rohit Sharma which was overturned by the umpires. Batting on 90 runs with India struggling at 196 in the 40th over. Sharma, stepping out of his crease put a full-tossed ball straight to a fielder at mid-wicket. But umpire Aleem Dar was quick to deem it a ‘no-ball’, presumably based on the height of the ball. The reprieve allowed Sharma to complete his century and help India over the 300-run barrier.
Speaking via telephone at a function organised by Bangladeshi expatriates in Melbourne for the national team, Hasina made the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) President Nazmul Hassan aware of her views.
“We would have won if the umpires did not give wrong decisions. Inshaallah, Bangladesh will win in the future. Bangladesh will become world champions, someday.”
She gave hope to fans and players alike over their performance in the World Cup. “There’s nothing to be upset. Everyone has seen how we were made to lose. We will win in the future.”
During her telephonic address she praised the efforts of the players in the tournament and told Mortaza and his boys not to be upset.
After the match, protests erupted in Bangladesh as angry fans voiced their displeasure with the decisions made in favour of the Indian cricket team.
BCB has said it will protest the umpiring in its report to the International Cricket Council (ICC), so much so that the ICC president Mustafa Kamal, a Bangladeshi, joined the protest saying, “If needed, I will resign from the ICC. Speaking as a fan, it appears to me that it (ICC) has become Indian Cricket Council. There needs to be an investigation. A result was forced on us today.”
The ICC has responded to Kamal’s outburst as “unfortunate” and “baseless”. This article originally appeared in India Today.](Bangladesh were made to lose WC quarterfinal to India: PM Hasina - India Today)
On a side note, it does seem that Aleem Dar's umpiring has gone down quite a few notches, seems he is making more errors than he did in the past. No longer on the elite panel?
