we need to first understand the concept of the role of MNAs.
They are not counsellors and part of city govt.
They get vote on wrong promises.
Their Job is not to fix the nalka or gutter line. That's the duty of the city nazim and city govt. assisted by the budget fro provincial/national assembly.
The job of the MNAs is to pass the rules and regulations and implement them to run the country. It's more of a constitutional job than a janitor.

qazi was not doing jack shyt anyways, just useless baan baan. hopefully the fact the he has resigned would mean that a more comptent person would take his place...did his daughter follow his example too, or is she not big on showboating.
qazi knows exactly what he is doing, elections will be in a few months, so for a few months he will not be in office, big whoop. but doing this not only is he appealing more to his traditional constituents who will vote for him in the next elections, but his coffers will be filled by other ppl whoa re goign apeshyt over the operation.

that is a very unfair statement in the context of his resignation.
I never like Qazi or his party for what they do. Little bit offtopic but I, however, only admired Naimatullah Adcocate's effort to bring good changes in Karachi back when he was the City Nazim from Jamat-e-Islami. Interestingly, all the credits were taken by MQM hali mawalies :)
Now as for opposing the creation of Pakistan, Jamat-e-Islami was not alone. Think of it as if some Balochies want separation from Pakistan, how would you feel? (although their intentions are solely ethnic and we have seen how pakistan was created in the name of Islam and broken in the name of Language: bangla) The position that many scholars took at that time was due to the fact that they always thought (wrongfully) that Muslims will be the ruler of the land anyway as they have been since 800 years.
Maulana Abul Kalam Azad was one.
Having said that, please, also note that it was, then Jamat-e-Islami which wanted the united india but not anymore. Cut these guys some slacks for what "previous" leaders of the party thought. Give a thought of the "current" allies of Govt. who still think "it was the greatest blunder of the history" (Read: Altaf Churan wala).

I think he’s a muslim leagui but am not sure if he’s still in Nawaz group or not.
He’s gone out of the scence, the most sensible politician in the current lot. Imran could be one but he comes out totally ludicurous on few important issues. His silence made me disappointed in the Lal Masjid saga and I expected better from him than calling it a govt. based conspiracy.

I remember I met him at his residence..walked into the drawing room..he had sort of mini meet of PML going. His servant had told him that someone is there to meet him..so he was near the drawing room door as I entered. Shook hands and I asked him..I would like to meet Raja Zafar Ul Haq. He was embarrassed in front of his colleagues. Said I am him. He was the federal minister for religion at the time. He has no relation with Zia.

I have only seen him on TV or read his opinions in newspapers. I am pretty much impressed with him. would love to hear your opinion.

but the fact remains that Zafar-ul-Haq is a bangali Raja
