Qaza Namaz

How is it normally done? Do you pray teh “missed” one first and then the one for htat time, or is it the reverse?

Also, when we say our niyat before namaz..is there something specific that we have to recite? Or we just say it (silently) in our language?

Shukriya :bb:

Re: Qaza Namaz

If you have time to pray the Qaza before the namaz then you do so and if you dont then you pray after wards, lets just say its Asr time and the time is finishing geting closer to Maghrib and you ve missed Zuhr, coz you have less time to pray zuhr coz Asr may finish so you pray Asr then make up for the Zuhr.

There is nt anything specific, you intend and recite with the tongue that your praying X amount of rakats for a particular namaz, and that you pray for Allah and you face the Ka'ba and if your behind an imam then you also say that i pray behing this imam.

the language: if you know arabic then you say it in arabic and if not then you say it in what ever language it suits you, urdu as alot of the times is used.

no need for shukriya, Your welcome :)

Re: Qaza Namaz

^ But don't you have to say "qaza" when you pray the qaza rakah. For example if I've missed my fajar and I pray later on I would start...

I pray 2 rakah namaz farth qaza for fajar......

Re: Qaza Namaz

I am pretty sure its part of niyyat. And generally speaking, current namaz should be offered first and qazaa namaaz should be offered after that.

Re: Qaza Namaz

ok so there’s nothing specific for “niyyat”..but as kids, werent’ we taught to say a specific thing? “do rakaat namaz farz… farz… something something something waqt namaz zuhur/asar/fajar/maghrib” etc.. :confused:Also..on one hand, there’s such strictness for namaz , which is understandable…but wat if someone is in the process of learning, (i.e. converts/reverts) but cannot memorize everything all at once and soq uickly to be able to recite it for nxt prayer? wat does one do theN?

Re: Qaza Namaz

Sara516 etc: Am Really sorry that i forgot to mention that whilst doing Niyat your to mention that its a QAZA for a particular namaaz and whether its fard, sunnah etc

Faisal: The above what i have said is for a general people waht i mean is for people like me and you who have work, things to do and we tend to miss namaaz on a regular occation intentionally or unintentionally, their ruling is that they perform the current namaaz first then they pray the qazaa namaaz, but for a person who in life has never missed one single namaaz and has prayed all prayers at their times, for a wali of allah eg, their ruling is that if at one occation or few they are to pray the qazaa namaaz first then perform the current namaaz, for them it would be like as if they never missed a namaz.
i hope you have understood what i have said, but for general people, if there is time then they CAN pray qazaa before the current namaaz so long as they are not praying in MAKROOH times.

Mrs Saieen: For a new person to islam for them the intention is sufficient and they in their mind know who they are praying for what they are praying how many units, and whether its obligatory, Sunnah etc. BUT it is also reccommended that they learn the procedure as soon as possible and preferablly in Arabic and if not then in What ever language is Easier for them.

I hope i have answered the doubts and if there is anything that you suspect is not right please tell me.

Re: Qaza Namaz

Qaza is obligatory missed Namaz from the day
- if you are muslim child and turned Baalig
- from the day someone who is Adult has embraced Islam.
-the person was in Qoma and came out of it
-was mentally ill or out of sense and curred

Well for Qaza namaz there are two options.

  1. If you have missed many prayers (like more then one day) and you never have missed the prayer since it was Farz then you have to count that how many were missed and you have to complete the count. You have to do Niyyah in your own language or arabic (which ever is easy ) "Niyyah for Namaz Qaza (time of missed Namaz you want to pray i.e. Fajar ) xx Rakat (this will be nos of Farz Rakat for example Fajar 2 Zuhar 4 Asar 4 and so on)"
This will be your first Qaza of Fajar. The only thing you have to be careful is that according to Hanafi's the Qaza namaz for Fajar and Asar will be before the Farz of that time.

  2. if you are regular and never have Qaza Namaz before then it prefered that you should pray QAZA before you pray any other Namaz. the niyyah will be "2 Rakat Namaz Fajar Qaza "

Re: Qaza Namaz

Also as far as I know that if you missed Fajar namaz than you should also pray 2 qaza Sunah as well as the 2 Farz. So if you were to pray your missed Zuhar you would only pray the 4 Farz qaza of Zuhar not the 2+4 Sunah of Zuhar. But if you missed Fajar than you shoud pray both 2 Farz and 2 Sunah as qaza.

Re: Qaza Namaz

Pray it as normal prayer and don't worry about saying thats it qaza or not.

God already knows what you intended so why worry?

Also I don't think you should worry about the rakat count - just make sure you do the farz of the missed prayer and then offer anything else in addition if you desire. Good luck.

Re: Qaza Namaz

Excuse me … Niyat is Waajib to do and its also Waajib to Intend that its a particular QAZA.

Plus, Plz dont THINK …make sure you KNOW about what your saying, Number of Rakats must be kept in mind and as niyyat coz you could be praying 4 Rakats but you ve misssed Maghrib so Number of Rakats DOES matter. :halo:

Re: Qaza Namaz

This is going to be my last post in this thread.

Nowhere did the Muhammad(pbuh) mention to say the niyat aloud - it does NOT matter. It's just intention and I intend to pray and thats it.

I wonder what was made of "just make sure you do the farz of the missed prayer " in my post. Perhaps you should have read the entire post before concluding that you should enlighten me with yours.
