What does Qazai Umri means? Does it imply offering of prayers that we have missed over the years?
Since I open the threads, I 'll keep myself as the subject. the question i want to ask is regarding the qaza prayers. For example, I used to pray the qaza after saying my Isha prayers.
Then someone told me that all the qaza’s should be said prior to saying your Isha, infact before offering your Witr??
So, when should the qaza be offered…before or after the Isha prayers?
Qaza-e-umri is qaza for any prayers that you have missed in your life in the past, the times and days of which you may not remember. What you do is that with every namaz, you pray a qaza for that particular namaz, as qaza-e-umri. This is recommended by scholars as a way to make up for any missed namazein.
And any qaza namaz has to be prayed before the next namaz. From what I gathered, you say all your daily prayers in the form of qaza, after isha every night. While that practice in itself is not correct, but if you must, the qaza salat should be said before Isha itself.
some books mention reading a 50-rakaat qaza-e-umri (or other such number) but these have no authentic ahadith behind them and one shud not practice them....
