Qatar Airways

Re: Qatar Airways

Flight is booked. Vienna-Doha-Lahore on 5th January and Lahore-Doha-Vienna on 3rd February.

On the way back I will have an 11-hour-stay, so I’ll get that temporary visa in order to leave the airport and will do a little sight seeing in Doha.

Re: Qatar Airways

Yeah do some sight seeing, we had to wait for about four hours and we didnt know what to do to pass time...it's was crammed with people...and we couldn't even find a place to seat ourselves, Visit corniche Island, it looks beautiful.

Re: Qatar Airways

Plan has changed, because the ticket of Qatar Airways was too expensive. So now I'm flying to Dubai with Austrian Airlines and from there to Lahore with AirBlue. :D

Re: Qatar Airways

Qatar Airways is just starting its flights from berlin.
for the first time ever we'll be able to fly direct from berlin instead of first going to frankfurt/ london etc.

me going on 18th .....can't wait!!!
:)

Re: Qatar Airways

Are you stopping over in Dubai? Enjoy your trip, post any pictures you take during your trip when you get back!

Re: Qatar Airways

My brother flew Qatar. He loved their entertainment system but says there was insufficient legroom. His knees were jammed against the seat in front through the flight.

He is 5 feet 10 inches tall.

Re: Qatar Airways

Yes, I will have a stopover in Dubai. The only issue is, that my wife (holding a Pakistani passport) would need a visa in order to leave the airport. And if she doesn’t get that, we will have to stay at the airport for 13 hours. :bummer:

Re: Qatar Airways

I'd suggest you apply for a temporary visa, 13 hours OMG 4 hours wouldn't pass in Doha, . You can see quite a bit in Dubai in 13 hours, take a taxi ride to the beach or something, Do the airport provide accommodation?
I'd like to visit Dubai again. :)

Re: Qatar Airways

soo true, humse poocho, I enjoyed the in-flight entertainment, service etc a part from the food and the legroom, to top it, I was feeling quite cold as it was 2am (Doha Time) when the flight finally took-off and when I asked for an extra blanket, she said we don’t have any spares , later she managed to find a spare one.

Re: Qatar Airways

That’s what I wanted to do. Applying for a temporary visa (also called 96-hour visa). But the UAE embassy here in Vienna does not accept these applications. They say that either the airline provides it or I have to book a hotel room and the hotel would arrange the visa. :bummer:

Re: Qatar Airways

my first experience with qatar was not that bad but a bad incident did happened to me during khi-doha bound fligth. the airhostess spilled glass of apple juice on my white shirt.

otherwise not a bad airline

Re: Qatar Airways

^ ooooh.....Did you claim for any sort of compensation?

Re: Qatar Airways

nope

Re: Qatar Airways

^ I bet she was very embarassed though

Re: Qatar Airways

Umer
You should get the transit visa on entry. I think your wife should not have any problem with this as long as you go ahead and book the hotel accommodation with them. This can be booked at Dubai Airport. I had no problem the last time I travelled through Dubai with a stopover of around 15 hours.
