Has anyone ever travelled with them? I’m asking, because from November 2003 they are starting a non-stop flight from Vienna to Doha, which means I would have one for alternative for flying to Pakistan.
So I just want to know, how your experience has been.
Umer!!!!!! WoW I saw the same advertisment near my office, it's gonna be their base office starting next month. So I was called their office in Zurich as they are not here as yet, to get some price and general information about their flights to Pakistan, but I am sorry to say that they did not give me any information as the prices are not out yet.
I called the Qatar airline office here in Dubai, but apparently the spokesperson didn't have any information on that particular sector. Sorry mak but I cannot get the price or I would have got an Xact fare. Prices r comparitively cheaper than Emirates, & the airline's service is not that bad. I've flown PIA 2 singapore & their service was not at par with any other international flights.
My parents flew Qatar Airways from Pakistan to London (via Doha) this July, and they were all praise for the airline. Brand new aircrafts, comfortable seats with televisions and movies, attentive crews, on-time flights and no problems in baggage handling. Not to mention great food.
Qatar is among the best airlines now. It is one of the few airlines that has seen an increase in demand. Alot of their pilots are expats from North American airlines. The best business class I've seen, and the economy class also serves up great food.
Qatar is flying to Pakistan to the following destinations: Peshawer, Lahore and Karachi. (Unfortunately not Islamabad) Price around about 750 Euro, I think.
Another good news, British Airways is also starting their flight programm to Pakistan again (including Isb) from December 2003.
I flew Qatar in Dec. 2000. From NY (JFK) had to take Virgin to Heathrow. Got there Christmas day and they cancelled my flight from London to Karachi which was supposed to take off at 8.30 am. Next flight was at 7.00 pm. After a whole lot of tough talk I got to the station manager's office where i found out that the flight was only about 15% booked so they cancelled the flight.
Ok, so I get to karachi and from the 4 suitcases that we'd checked in, only 1 got to karachi. Of the 2.5 weeks we were there we only had our bags the last week of our stay. To top it all of, once suitcases's lock was busted and all the perfumes and colognes I had in there were gone.
Needless to say that's one airline I woulnt' travel in.
With that being said, I do have a cousin who works for Qatar Air in Karachi, I could get you a discount (?) :-)
