Qari Sahab teaching Quran to 13+ ladies at home

How come parents, Qari Sahab and the young ladies are comfortable with the way this teaching is carried out specially in places where Qari sahab is not very strict in lowering his gaze and the students are not very ‘extremists’ (backward) in their dressing. Also mostly they don’t have a mic and head phones to communicate from a comfortable distance.

Re: Qari Sahab teaching Quran to 13+ ladies at home

You’re saying all Qaris are perverts?

Nice. :smack:

Wrong conclusion Mr. Mod. Please try again.

Tried.

Same conclusion.

Re: Qari Sahab teaching Quran to 13+ ladies at home

Not all, but some do take advantage of such situations. I know a lot of families who are not comfortable with one on one teaching unless another person is present. Most people would insist on there being more than one child, regardless of gender.

Re: Qari Sahab teaching Quran to 13+ ladies at home

I can see your point of view, CMG....and I've wondered about that as well...especially when you hear cases of abuse. But it wouldn't only be limited to this example........what about sending kids to school?

Re: Qari Sahab teaching Quran to 13+ ladies at home

How should those girls be dressed in your opinion? You'd like them to look 'extremist'?

Also seems you have a problem with them being nearby the teacher and not taught over a mic or something.. If they're all appropriately dressed I can't really see what's wrong.. They would prob learn more having the teacher speaking to them that way anyway (assuming they're not being left alone with him either)..

Re: Qari Sahab teaching Quran to 13+ ladies at home

Either that or parents can check in on things at regular intervals....because I've heard cases of tutors/qaris making inappropriate comments/molesting, etc.

In most cases ...and from what I've observed...girls dress in a decent manner...kurta/shalwar with dupatta. I don't see anything wrong with that...and if so...then perhaps there's something wrong with kari and his perceptions/neeyat.

Re: Qari Sahab teaching Quran to 13+ ladies at home

personally I think after 11 all young girls should preferably be taught by a female Qariya or even if they had a male Qari sahab earlier the parents should consider changing them. The reason I say this is because it becomes awkward for both the Qari sahab as well as the girl and her siblings esp when she reaches the age of menarche (or has her period).

I don't think dressing inappropriately should be a problem as most parents do teach the children ethics of being completely covered and wearing a dupatta/scarf on their head when reciting or reading Quran. It's but common sense. Rest parents should make sure that Qari sahab should be asked to sit in an open drawing room and not in a separate room. So CGM the dressing bit doesn't make a valid point ...

Re: Qari Sahab teaching Quran to 13+ ladies at home

Un 13+ larkiyo ki niyat mein khot hoga. Isliye comfortable hoti hain.

Re: Qari Sahab teaching Quran to 13+ ladies at home

It does sound a bit weird when you phrase it like that, in main stream education there are times when a student may be with the teacher, alone in a room and it isn't frowned upon. Then again my parents never let me have qari sahib because of the horrible stories you hear.

It's up to the parents really, if the qari sahib is a trusted person and you don't think he'll be leering at the children then it's not a problem, but you can never really be sure. A pakistani qari in a local mosque was convicted of sexually abusing children, so yeah.

I would personally try to avoid the whole situation :|

Re: Qari Sahab teaching Quran to 13+ ladies at home

Shame on you for making such remarks. Ever thought they consider Qari a teacher and nothing else.

Re: Qari Sahab teaching Quran to 13+ ladies at home

hmmm.. they are not ?

Re: Qari Sahab teaching Quran to 13+ ladies at home

Oh really? You don't say!

Re: Qari Sahab teaching Quran to 13+ ladies at home

From what I remember, don't girls have to be covered with a duputta on their head (or headscarf) and modest clothing to learn Quran? if they're covered, how much more "extreme" should their dressing be?

Re: Qari Sahab teaching Quran to 13+ ladies at home

Yes...really! I don't say things that low about people.

Re: Qari Sahab teaching Quran to 13+ ladies at home

I do believe she was being sarcastic....

btw what's "khot"?

Re: Qari Sahab teaching Quran to 13+ ladies at home

I'm wondering this as well.. If they don't have their hair showing and have covered arms and legs I can't understand what else needs doing..

Re: Qari Sahab teaching Quran to 13+ ladies at home

Maulwi's have a 'reputation' for this!!!

Re: Qari Sahab teaching Quran to 13+ ladies at home

neeyat main khot...meaning their itention isn't in the right place. Reminds me of the saying "dil main chor"
